Here are the key highlights: - Total customers in Q2 FY24 grew by 4% to 68.8K YOY. - Customers with ARR >USD 5K grew by 14% YOY, accounting for 90% of the ARR. - Customers with ARR > USD 50K grew by 30% YOY, making up 50% of the ARR. In terms of key metrics: - Revenue saw a 20% growth to 174 Mn in Q2 FY24, with the US market contributing 45%. Came across this insightful video on the quick commerce model and really got me thinking that quick commerce in India is not just a business model, it’s reshaping consumer behavior and competitive dynamics. Initially met with skepticism, the sector has grown by fostering a new consumer demand for speed and convenience. What started as platforms focused on delivering essentials within minutes to now gradually expanding into variety of categories, which has forced even traditional players to pivot. For instance Myntra Fashion known for its focus on premium fashion brands, is now testing four-hour delivery services in selected geographies. This marks a big shift for a platform that has always prioritized quality over speed. It’s a clear sign of how the quick commerce wave is pushing even established, niche players in e-commerce to adapt and keep up with changing customer expectations. What stands out to me is that this shift isn’t just about speeding up deliveries, it’s about changing how people live and shop. It’s fascinating to see how blending speed with trust and thoughtful personalisation could shape the next big phase of growth and success in this space. The muesli category has a monthly market size estimated at INR 4.5 Crores on Blinkit, reflecting robust consumer interest in health-oriented products. Let's dive deeper: 1. Yogabar is killing it with the dumbbell approach - 15% overall market share, leading both in the premium and the value segment 2. Bagrry's and True Elements are punching above their weight with market share of 6% and 4% respectively, higher than their respective branded search share - indicating competitive product market fit 3. Kellogg Company of course leads the category with a 66% market share 4. The muscle of the segment is between INR 50-90 per gram (mid-premium) - 70% of the category lies here 5. This store avg. CR is 0.18%. Yes, the CR it's really low and they should definitely work on it. But that's not my point. My point is that ZipChat AI converted 2 customers in only 13 sessions. That's a 23% CR (vs. the 0.18% of the store). Moreover, 1 also returned to buy again. You can also see the AOV is higher than all the other channels but 1. Imagine this at higher scale. We have Shopify , Adobe Commerce and PrestaShop merchants generating thousands of orders/month from the AI Chatbot. It's almost 2025. If you have an online brand and you are not using ZipChat AI to engage and talk to your customers, you are leaving money on the table. That's it. Peace.

Is Authentic Customer Service a Thing of the Past or an Opportunity for the Future? Every day, we encounter examples of how customer service is evolving. Take our shift from familiar Kirana stores to apps like Zepto and Blinkit. While these services offer convenience, I can’t help but feel we're losing that personal touch. Are we chasing efficiency over empathy? Since I joined SurveySparrow, I’ve had the chance to dive deep into the world of customer experience, and it feels like genuine interactions are becoming rarer. Whether it’s in a hotel, restaurant, or even chatting with a bot, we often encounter scripted responses and minimal effort. I see businesses losing the art of customer service, and even more concerning, customers seem to be lowering their expectations. But maybe this is where the opportunity lies. In a world filled with automated replies, bringing real empathy and openness to the table can build trust and lasting relationships. It’s a chance to stand out by offering something genuine. But then again, one could argue that there’s a practical tradeoff between scaling operations vs delivering a hyper-focused customer experience. Ultimately, what we collectively prioritise translates to what we receive. So, the next time you encounter the bitter end of customer experience, consider what kind of service you expect and what kind of future you want to support. Are we willing to accept less, or should we demand the genuine care that once defined great customer service?

Would you call it a poor user experience or a smart money saving tactic by Zepto ? In both ways it showcases negative move by Zepto. 1) No difference for customers with Pass by default Zepto previously offered free delivery by default for customers who had pass, but now they seem to have introduced an option requiring users to explicitly apply for free delivery despite having a delivery pass. This can be confusing, especially for users accustomed to the earlier system. 2. Non-Transparent Communication Zepto appears to have made these changes without adequately notifying customers, leading to frustration when users discover they’re being charged unexpectedly. Transparency in such changes is crucial for maintaining trust. 3. Hidden Apply Button The fact that the “apply” option is hidden within the “details” section adds another layer of difficulty for customers, making it easy to overlook. This design choice could be seen as exploiting user inattentiveness rather than providing a seamless user experience. Aadit Palicha Hope you are aware of these changes. When Jahnavee and I pivoted to build in the space of customer retention, we didn’t want to just solve for challenges in retention; but make the workflows more efficient and productive. When you look at SaaS companies that do around $ 25 Mn ARR, CSMs handle the bulk of retention, in larger SaaS companies with an ARR greater than 50 million, you have dedicated teams handling retention. During our product research we interacted with both retention personas (CSMs and Retention Experts) and here's what we learned : Manual data tracking: Retention personas often spend significant time manually tracking customer health scores and engagement metrics. This process is not only time-consuming but also prone to errors. Reactive support: A common pitfall in retention is operating in a reactive mode. The retention personas find themselves constantly firefighting, addressing issues as they arise rather than proactively preventing them. This reactive approach can lead to customer dissatisfaction and increased churn rates. Scalability: As the customer base grows, maintaining high-quality, personalised interactions becomes challenging. Managing a growing number of accounts without the necessary tools can lead to burnout and subpar customer experiences. Data silos: Retention personas often struggle with data scattered across multiple platforms, making it difficult to get a holistic view of customer engagement and health. This fragmented data landscape hinders their ability to make informed decisions and provide timely interventions. Identifying churn risks: Without predictive analytics, identifying which customers are at risk of churning becomes a guessing game. Retention personas need tools to help them foresee potential churn and take preventive measures. Retention personas are the unsung heroes of customer retention, tirelessly working to ensure every customer finds value in the product. D2C brands couldn’t fit into traditional retail completely but had to swallow the pill since there weren’t many options. Today’s customers are conscious, opinionated, and unapologetically specific about their needs, they no longer just look for value—they seek stories. We consume the narrative before we consume the product. It's that exchange of trust that drives the purchase. Today, we have so many purpose-led brands that are challenging giants in the market for the greater good. And they deserve a platform for discovery and expressing themselves in their own voice. Building that truly immersive experience exclusively for D2C (oh not-so-D2C brands) that the traditional infrastructure couldn’t create has been long due. Highlights: Amazon India has approached IPO-bound Swiggy for a potential deal involving its quick commerce business under Instamart, said three people aware of the matter. The development comes close on the heels of Swiggy confidentially filing draft documents with Sebi for Rs 10,414 crore ($1.25 billion) public offering, among the largest for a new-age internet firm. The early discussions may not lead to a transaction considering the complicated structure of the deal in its present form, these people said. “Swiggy is unlikely to sell only its quick commerce business and Amazon won’t be interested in the food delivery space where growth is starting to plateau,” said the person cited above. Legacy ecommerce companies have been on a hunt to amp up their quick commerce play as the sector sees aggressive growth, challenging the likes of Amazon and Flipkart. Swiggy’s Instamart, Zomato’s Blinkit and sole independent platform Zepto are the three leading firms in the segment, unsettling online platforms by expanding beyond grocery retail. ET reported June 25 that Flipkart had explored a similar deal with Swiggy last year but the talks fell through due to a valuation mismatch.
