I highly recommend watching this fantastic documentary on Aadhaar to every tech leader. Today we all are talking about India's leap in digital journey but without this project I think It would have been very difficult for us as country to achieve this leap. There are so many points in this documentary that I could relate with different projects I have executed in past and I am sure each one of you must have gone through similar situations. mentioning some point which we all can relate very easily with Tech/digital program in our organisation. 1) Establishing the need of Project. There were already multiple identities why to add one more with adhaar ? when we want to start any new challenging project we do get this questions from stakeholders isn't it ? 2) Team composition: The Aadhaar team was probably the first fully private sector team working on a government program. not a conventional team composition, isn't it ? some time we do need such unconventional team to take up challenge that can't be handled through much informed team members. you just need people with passion to put their 100% on idea. 3) Uniqueness and exception handling: Now this area according to me has to be pure technology expertise to design a solution that covers 90% of usecases, if not 100%. designing to cater to 100% coverage may not always be possible. Exception handling for Aadhaar solution design was to handle exception of people without hands, without iris we can't keep investing and try to make a solution that caters to 100%, it's a trad off that we all have to make in our projects. we all have made some tough choices 😉 4) Change of timelines: Projects which are no where in management consideration becomes over night critical for go live. something similar was visible with Aadhaar project when they had to launch with short notice. As tech leader I have personally seen many such moments, I am sure many of you also must have. 5) Street smartness: Funny situation of how Aadhaar project team could use safari suit as an attire to get access in difficult areas which they were not even able to get through their identity cards. while managing critical project street smartness is one of the critical attribute your team should have. you can't be simply following rule book to get all situations managed. 6) Change of champions: While we can deal with all smaller issues during project execution because we know that project sponsors and champions are there to support. but what happens if the core project sponsors is no more ? something similar happened with Aadhaar team when government changed. well such situations are really defining moments. if your project is solid enough and if your execution skills are not too much dependent on management support than I am sure even change of management will not impact your project. I would be happy to hear more points, do comment, as sharing knowledge will only increase it 😊

Make the best of the many options you have, rather than changing and waiting for external material things for happiness find your moments of joy with things that matter to you the most - like spending quality time with family, pursuing your passion, reliving old hobbies, travelling to gather cherished memories or simply enjoying a quite weekend at home with movie or a novel. None of these costs much but add so much depth and vibrance to your existence. It brings out your best at work and as a person for those close to you who need that much awaited meaningful conversation or that hug to pick them up from the dragging monotonous life...invest in yourself, invest in your relationships, invest in your future, invest in all those things that money cant buy but a willing heart longs for...smile on your near and dear ones. Its priceless and worth every effort, time and money spent...you only live once...make it count. You dont need to live like a king to have a big life, you need to help yourself find your purpose and help others smile through their struggle...this again costs nothing just some kind words, few thoughtful gestures and compassion. Self regulatory organizations (#SROs) will bring some level of discipline in the behavior and services of the #Fintech organizations. Dharmender Jhamb explaining the SRO framework during a panel discussion at PMOGA India Hub. He further emphasized as to why it's important from the standpoint of #programmanagement and #riskmitigation measures. As per Dharmender, once SRO layer comes between the organization and #RBI there will be a supervision framework which the members of these SROs will be following. It will help in standardizing the services which are delivered to any customer or merchant by these fintechs. It will also ensure implementation of code of conduct and consistent fraud prevention and dispute resolution methods. It's an appreciable effort by #RBI to bring non-regulated entities under the purview of #corporategovernance.

Rethink customer persona- Digital Transformation Digital transformation is buzz word considering banks adopting to latest technology. It is more pertinent for banks to understand how their customer profiles are changing along with financial landscape. Personas play vital role to understand the stakeholder landscape and the opportunities that they bring with Digital Transformation. It can also define the client group used to cover most of the profitable segments which can be prioritized for the transformation. Let's consider few personas: 1) Traditional customer: > Charactersitics : old, prefers going to bank, digitally averse > Needs : cash requirements, assistance to digital services > Opportunities: revamp existing services which can cater to digitally onboard Traditional customers 2) Tech savy youngsters > Charactersitics : young, digitally active, prefers online transactions > Needs : digital platform, financial independence, new products for investment > Opportunities: technology driven solutions, ease of access, easy credit and loan facility Above examples are just indicative of how personas can help in creating opportunities as part of transformation. Discussions with internal stakeholders like marketing, strategy creators and frontline staff helps to identify the potential goals and strategy to enhance business will help in designing a proper transformation framework. Understanding competitor's behavior also plays a vital role in designing transformation strategy. Adopting to new technology, seamless payment systems, catering to local regulatory requirements and it's impact on the digital products with customer's security should also be considered in planning the digital transformation for any legacy banks. This in addition to the analysis of bank's business in the past decade will help to understand how transformation will impact customer and the bank's future growth. #cgm
