#Healthcare #Industry #News Source : Economic Times Max Healthcare will be investing up to 5500 Cr over the next 3-5 years to more than double the bed capacity. (adding around 4200 more beds). The expansion will comprise both greenfield and brownfield projects. Max Healthcare currently has 4000 beds mainly concentrated in Delhi, NCR. Of the fresh capacity about 2600 beds will become available over the next 4 years. Planning to add 300 beds in Delhi shortly besides commissioning 1000 beds each in FY25 and FY26 Uttar Pradesh will be the state where it wants to be the leading hospital chain. Medanta currently leads the UP market with its 1000 bed hospital in Lucknow. It will be investing 2500 Cr in 3-5 years in Lucknow which will be used towards setting up a greenfield 500 bed hospital in the city besides augmenting capacity at Sahara Hospital which it acquired for 940 cr last year. It has a operational capacity of 285 beds. Max will be investing 150-200 Cr to upgrade the Sahara Hospital by adding 265 more beds, renovate infrastructure, introduce robotics, radiation therapy in oncology, transplants and nursing education.
