One common challenge for SDRs during the interview process is the mock call exercise. Candidates tend to overthink about product knowledge, which can lead to feeling overwhelmed. Acquiring in-depth product knowledge in a new domain within the interview timeline is a tough task. Candidates should avoid the trap of taking the conversation into areas where they aren't strong. As a hiring manager, my focus is on the candidate's ability to engage the prospect effectively. It can be as simple as prompting the prospect to speak more by repeating what they said with the addition of what, why, or how; as appropriate. #SalesDevelopment #InterviewTips

If you follow these 10 commandments, promise you’ll feel — Always prepared, Always Suave & Always 1 step ahead. 1. **Support Buyer Meetings**: Focus on helping buyers in their internal meetings, not just your sales meetings. You are not the main event but the trusty sidekick - so behave like one without getting excited 2. **Be a Sense Maker**: Buyers are overwhelmed with information. Don’t just share more; help them make sense of what they have. You’re their personal GPS in a maze of data :) 3. **Orchestrate Resources**: Buyers often ignore decks and case studies. Instead, organize decision resources & build together. 4. **Target the Right Champions**: C-level execs aren't the best champions. Find lower-level managers who'll advocate for your solution. MEDDIPIC Framework is an effective way to close deals ! MEDDIPIC is a sales qualification framework used to effectively evaluate and manage complex sales opportunities. Each letter in the acronym stands for a key element that helps sales teams understand their deals better and increase their chances of closing. M - Metrics: Quantifiable measures of the value your solution brings to the customer. These are often financial metrics, such as ROI or cost savings. E - Economic Buyer: The individual with the final decision-making authority regarding the purchase. Identifying this person is crucial for closing the deal. D - Decision Criteria: The specific criteria the customer uses to evaluate and compare different solutions. Understanding these helps tailor your approach. D - Decision Process: The steps the customer will take to arrive at a purchasing decision, including key milestones and timelines. I - Identify Pain: The critical business challenges or problems the customer is facing that your solution can address. Identifying these pains drives the need for your product. P - Paper Process: The process of getting the agreement finalized, including legal, procurement, and other necessary paperwork. I - Influence: The individuals who can sway the decision-making process, including both formal and informal influencers. C - Competition: Understanding who your competitors are and how they are positioning themselves helps in strategizing your approach to highlight your unique value proposition. The last SDR that booked a meeting with me through personalized messages is Chintan Reddy. He sent me a personalized message and a personalized Gift! He did not try to pitch me directly but instead was very thoughtful and asked for feedback on sequences and asked for mine. Fast forward: He sent me another personalized message and I took a call to explore Evabot AI for Sales Outbound 2.0. I was pretty unconvinced on AI personalization and then on the call realized that the some of the messages he sent me were generated by Evabot, their product itself. I did not buy the product - it was too early in the AI era for me to be sold. A few months ago I started seeing them more and more of Evabot on linkedin and decided to give the product a shot and partner with them. (More to follow on this) I'm still Bullish that AI is not replacing sellers but when used the right way it complements and makes your job better.
