Everyone's talking about the start-up culture.. I'll tell you what it means to me.. In my opinion, the answer to this is quite subjective because not every start-up is operating similarly, which also means their culture isn't the same either. To each his own, which makes me want to speak about the start-up culture I believe in. 1. The start-up culture that I am building with Wakao Foods is based on the premise "all for one and one for all". Of course, there are predefined roles and responsibilities, but there are also times when one needs to willingly and happily cover up for the other. 2. Feedback is the cornerstone of the culture I am building. My approach is flexible, which keeps me open to feedback even from my subordinates, with most of my team members being young professionals. 3. The start-up culture that I bet on rides on professional camaraderie, collaboration, team work, and delegation. Trust and Transparency is what holds everything together at Wakao. 4. Relationships are the core of Wakao's culture, where my team and I continually strive to maintain lasting relationships and loyalties with every stakeholder. 5. Let’s talk about the insightful session I was a part of at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad I had an amazing opportunity last weekend where alongside Journalist Sadhika Tiwari and CEO of Rodbez, Dilkhush Kumar, we discussed a topic that I am sure many of you would be interested in. “How to Start a Startup?” It’s funny how most conversations around startups revolve around running and building a startup with very little attention on how to start one in the first place. I will utilize this post to start with the basics, emulating the exact route that I took while starting my startup Wakao Foods. Spilling my 3-step get set go framework for everyone looking to start their startup: 1.    𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦: The first step is to ensure your startup idea adds value to your target audience by acknowledging and solving a real pain point. Hence, you must conduct market research to understand these pain points, analyse competitors, and gather feedback from potential users. 2.    𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦: A startup thrives with the right team. Co-founders or Founding members with complementary skills, such as a technical expert, a business strategist, a marketing professional, and an operations hand can do wonders for your startup vision. 3.    𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧: A clear business plan outlines your startup's goals, target market, revenue model, and growth strategy. It serves as a roadmap for your startup's development and eventually helps attract investors. The key however is to lay significance on strategization.
