  • Have you ever faced an event firing twice in "Tag Assistant," like the 'Purchase' event, and wondered how to fix it? In my latest post, I’ve covered two key topics: 1️⃣ How it impacts your tracking. 2️⃣ A step-by-step guide to fix the issue. 🅰️ The Impact: Paid Ads: If the same conversion is recorded multiple times, it can be challenging to determine which campaign or ad group is generating the highest return. This complicates the optimization of your ad campaigns. Increased CPC: If the number of conversions is artificially inflated, you may believe you are getting conversions at a higher cost than you actually are. This can create issues with optimizing your budget and developing cost-effective campaigns. Reporting Issues: Conversion reports can become confusing, making it difficult to determine which campaigns are performing well or where your budget is being spent accurately. GA4 Data Accuracy: Duplicate conversions skew your GA4 dashboard, making measuring the actual number of purchases and overall performance hard. 🅱️ Step-by-Step Guide: 1. Open Google Tag Manager (GTM). 2. Select the tag you want to configure. 3. Navigate to the "Advanced Settings" section. 4. Under Tag Firing Options, select "Once per page". 5. Save and publish the changes 💡 How "Once per page" Works: ➜ When this option is enabled, the tag will fire only the first time the purchase trigger conditions are met during the confirmation page load. ➜ Even if the purchase event is triggered multiple times the tag will not fire again. ----------------------------------------------------------- ♻️ Found this helpful? • No Conversion Tracking for Google Ads or Meta Ads… Why? I sometimes hear this question from OLD clients: “Why isn't conversion tracking working?” And after auditing their TRACKING setups. I've noticed some common issues. In this post, I’ve discussed: "What they actually MISTAKE". 1. GTM Code Removed from the Website: Removing the GTM code disables your entire setup, causing all tags to stop working. 2. Paused or Deleted Tags in GTM: If conversion tags are paused or deleted, conversions won’t be recorded for either Meta or Google Ads. 3. Changed GTM Triggers: Modifying triggers tied to conversion events can prevent tags from firing properly, leading to data loss. 4. Not Submitting GTM Changes: If GTM changes aren’t submitted, they remain inactive, and tracking issues persist. Have you faced similar challenges with your clients? • 🚨 Alert: Conversion Tracking Issues After Shopify Checkout Update One of my Shopify clients recently faced this issue——here’s what caused it: The Problem: ➜ A year ago, I implemented the Data Layer on the "Order Status" page to enable conversion tracking. ➜ However, after the client upgraded their checkout process, the Data Layer code was removed from the "Order Status" page. The Impact: ➜ As a result, conversions were no longer being tracked, affecting the performance of their Meta Ads and Google Ads campaigns. The Solution: ✅ Enable the Data Layer via Shopify's Customer Events. ✅ Add a custom pixel for accurate conversion tracking. Have you experienced similar issues? Please share your thoughts in the comments! #Shopify #ConversionTracking #GA4 #GTM #MetaPixel #GoogleAnalytics #GoogleTagManager #WebAnalytics

  • Are your Meta Ads double-counting conversions on your Shopify store? When auditing a Shopify client’s Meta Business Manager, GTM, and Shopify store, I often identify several common issues that lead to conversion double-counting. 1️⃣ Connecting the Meta Pixel through Shopify’s partner integration. 2️⃣ Reconnecting the same Pixel using the Shopify App or Google Tag Manager (GTM). The result? Double-counted conversions that lead to inaccurate reporting and hinder ad optimization. The solution—avoid multiple integrations for the same Pixel and opt for a single method like Google Tag Manager for accurate tracking. ---------------------------------------------------- ♻️ Like or Repost to spread the word 🎯 Follow me, Sobuj Mondal, for the more Web Analytics insight 💌 Newsletter: https://lnkd.in/djFfuuig 📩 Need help? • Case Study: Shopify App VS Google Tag Manager (GTM) for Google Ads Conversion Tracking Last month, I worked with a UK client to set up Google Ads conversion tracking via GTM. The client had been relying on the Shopify app for tracking but sought a more precise and reliable solution to capture conversion data accurately. ● Client’s Observations After One Month When comparing the data between the Shopify channel app and the GTM-based solution after a month of implementation, the results were eye-opening: → Google Ads Conversions via GTM: 125 conversions recorded → Shopify Channel App: 99 conversions recorded This 26% discrepancy exposed the limitations of the Shopify app, which missed capturing critical conversion events, and highlighted the accuracy and reliability that GTM provides. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♻️ Like or Repost to spread the word 🎯 Follow me, Sobuj Mondal, for the more Web Analytics insight 💌 Newsletter: https://lnkd.in/djFfuuig 📩 Need help?
