  • 🚀 Swiggy's IPO Creates 500 New Crorepatis! 🚀 Today marks a major milestone for Swiggy and its people as the company's much-anticipated IPO is set to turn nearly 500 employees into crorepatis! 💰 At least ₹1 Crore Each: This historic IPO will distribute a total of ₹9,000 crore among 5,000 long-serving employees. From delivery agents to senior leaders, it’s a win for the entire team who built Swiggy from the ground up. 🏅 One of India’s Biggest ESOP Payouts: Swiggy’s Employee Stock Option (ESOP) payout ranks among the largest in India's startup ecosystem. Previously, Flipkart set a high bar with its ₹5,800 crore ESOP payout in July 2023, benefiting thousands of current and former employees. This IPO is more than a financial event—it’s a celebration of Swiggy’s culture and the belief that when teams thrive, the whole company rises.

  • Quick commerce appears to be the flavour of the season 👇 🔸The “trinity” of Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart and Zepto appear to have leveraged their first-mover advantage in the space to cultivate strong brand recognition and captured a big chunk of the market share. 🔸For context, these three players together reported over $1 Bn in revenue in FY24 while a report estimates that the quick commerce industry in India saw sales surge by 280% over the last two years. 🔸Not stopping there, quick commerce players are now eyeing their next growth path by moving into the non-grocery category such as fashion and electronics. Unlike deep-pocketed vertically-integrated marketplaces, which take days for deliveries, the USP of quick commerce lies in the “10-minute” magic. 🔸Such has been its sudden rise that many project quick commerce platforms to eventually eat into the market share of traditional ecommerce platforms. Fearful of missing the bus, Flipkart has already entered the burgeoning space with “Minutes” while Amazon has been lining up plans to make its quick commerce foray. 🔸Not just these big titans, but a host of new startups, conglomerates and even other new-age tech companies, too, have also been trying to replicate this success. • Restaurant aggregator and food delivery giant Zomato is sponsoring Indian Boxer, Neeraj Goyat as he is set to compete in the biggest boxing event of the calendar year between the iconic Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, which will be streamed on Netflix. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has announced that his brand will serve as the official sponsor for the boxing talent Neeraj Goyat. Goyal tweeted that he met Goyat on The Kapil Sharma Show while appearing as a guest. The Zomato boss wrote, “Zomato is excited to back @GoyatNeeraj as he makes India proud on a global stage. We are thrilled to be a small part of Neeraj’s journey, as his official sponsors. Rooting for him. Punch up, brother.” Haryana’s Neeraj Goyat began his boxing career in 2006 and won gold at the Youth National Tournament in 2008. Goyat is the first Indian boxer to be ranked in the WBC World Rankings for three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017, following victories in three WBC Asia titles. An unfortunate car accident in 2018 forced him to withdraw from an important match against British boxer Amir Khan. However, he made an impressive comeback by publicly challenging social media influencer and boxer Jake Paul, which drew huge public attention. Incidentally, the star boxer has appeared in music videos and films. The highly-awaited match is scheduled for Friday, November 15. Originally set for July 20, it was postponed because of a medical issue that affected Tyson's training. The match will stream exclusively on Netflix. Follow us for more such updates !! But instead of giving up, he leaned in and found an even greater vision. Starting in a 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿-𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲-𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 family with dreams of becoming a civil servant Aatrey’s path took a sharp turn at IIT, where the spark of entrepreneurship replaced his earlier goals. After a stint at ITC in Chennai, he made his way to Bengaluru, determined to build something transformative. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲 Initially, Vidit faced the reality that small businesses struggled to navigate social media for sales. Despite India’s growing e-commerce market, millions of sellers lacked the tools to reach digital customers effectively. Vidit knew this was his opportunity to create a solution for those small business owners who wanted to succeed online but lacked the resources. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 In 2015, he and his co-founder Sanjeev Barnwal launched Meesho A platform that allows anyone to start their own marketplace using social media like WhatsApp and Facebook to connect with customers. While sellers focus on sales, Meesho takes care of logistics, offering a seamless way for businesses to grow online. In 2021, Meesho secured over $870 million in funding from global investors like SoftBank and Fidelity. By January 2024, the company was valued at $3.5 billion—a testament to Vidit’s persistence, though not without setbacks from previous highs. 𝟯 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗔𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 Vidit’s initial setback became a springboard for the insights that fueled Meesho. • Google Vs ChatGPT OpenAI has taken a bold step into the search world, launching a real-time web search feature within ChatGPT that aims to deliver accurate, timely answers in a natural, conversational format. By integrating live internet data, this feature lets ChatGPT answer queries with the latest news, weather, sports, and more, setting it apart from traditional search engines. CEO Sam Altman and analysts are excited about the potential of this new search model, which builds on OpenAI’s powerful GPT-4o model and partnerships with media outlets like The Associated Press and Reuters. Users can initiate searches by clicking a web search icon, receiving detailed responses with source links. Altman describes this feature as his “favorite” since ChatGPT’s debut, citing its intuitive, dialogue-driven style that allows users to ask follow-up questions and refine answers more effectively. Despite this innovation, OpenAI faces formidable competitors. Google, with nearly 90% of the search market, remains the dominant player, armed with cutting-edge AI capabilities and deep expertise in search. Microsoft, a major OpenAI investor, also feels the competition as ChatGPT’s new search rivals Bing and other Microsoft AI products. OpenAI’s VP of Engineering, Srinivas Narayanan, noted that while Bing powers parts of ChatGPT’s search, the tool combines multiple data sources to offer a unique experience. For now, this search feature is available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and SearchGPT waitlist users, with broader access expected in the coming months. As OpenAI builds out this feature, it aims to create a richer, more interactive way to search—one that could prompt Google and others to rethink their approach. Though ChatGPT isn’t poised to replace Google yet, its engaging style and real-time updates mark a major shift in how we access and interact with information online. #google #chatgpt #openai #tech #technology #ai #technews
