About us

We are Nexstem. We create Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) solutions that help people interact with technology using their brain signals. Founded in 2020, by Siddhant and Deepansh - engineers with a passion for neuroscience and technology, we’ve been pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in neurotech since our first product, the Nexstem V1 in 2022. At Nexstem, we specialize in non-invasive BCI devices, like our 19-channel headset, Instinct, which comes with a full software ecosystem to decode brain signals. Our goal is to make BCI technology accessible, empowering researchers, clinicians, and developers to innovate and explore new frontiers in brain-computer interaction. Nexstem's technology is recognised by many stalwarts of the industries includes Mircrosoft for Startups, NASSCOM, VIVA tech Paris, YourStory and many more. We have got support from some of the finest neuroscientists and doctors to build accessible tech for the neurotech.     Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) have evolved from niche scientific experiments to a rapidly growing field with real-world applications. While research publications increased 74x from 1979 to 2020, what’s truly remarkable is the shift toward non-invasive technologies like EEG, which now make up over 60% of recent studies. This focus is driving innovations that are not only groundbreaking but also more accessible for everyday use. The global BCI market, currently valued at $1.9 billion, is on track to surpass $5.3 billion by 2030, with healthcare leading the charge. Beyond neurorehabilitation and brain-controlled prosthetics, unexpected applications like emotion recognition and mental health therapies are emerging. The integration of AI has supercharged BCI capabilities, improving signal decoding accuracy by 85%, enabling precise control of robotics, and paving the way for brain-controlled smart devices. Yet, this sector remains a vast frontier with countless opportunities waiting to be explored.

    𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄? The term 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻-𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 (BCI) was first introduced in 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟯 by 𝗨𝗖𝗟𝗔’𝘀 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗹, envisioning the use of brain signals to control prosthetics. This idea became a reality in 2004 when Matt Nagle, a paralyzed man, used a BCI to control a computer cursor and prosthetic hand. The development of standardized implants, like the Utah array, revolutionized BCI technology, enabling consistent brain signal processing.
