About us
MANAS - The Mental Health Society of College of Vocational Studies, established in 2020, is a student run body that has set out to promote the cause of mental health awareness in college campuses and among the youth in general. We are a team of driven individuals who feel that mental health issues are not given their due share of attention in our conversations and daily lives, and we are here to make moves to change that. Our work focuses on educating people about the important role of mental health and acting as a helping hand to those in need, by providing support through our well-being rangers. We aspire to create a safe space within the campus, for and by the students. You can connect with us via DM's or [email protected]

💬 Understanding Social Anxiety: Myths, Facts, and the Path to Healing** Social anxiety is more than just feeling shy or nervous. It’s a mental health condition marked by intense fear and discomfort in social situations, which can often lead to behaviors like people-pleasing to cope. Have you ever felt anxious while speaking in public or found it difficult to talk to a cashier at a store? For individuals with social anxiety, even these everyday tasks can feel overwhelming. Yet, it’s crucial to remember: until you give up, your story isn’t over. In our day-to-day lives, misconceptions about social anxiety are widespread. Let’s challenge a few common myths: 🧩 **Myth:** Social anxiety only affects introverts. **Fact:** Both introverts and extroverts can experience social anxiety. Personality traits do not determine one's vulnerability to this condition. 🧩 **Myth:** People with social anxiety don’t like being around others. **Fact:** People with social anxiety often crave meaningful social connections but may hold back due to intense self-doubt. Common triggers can include meeting new people, interacting with strangers, and other seemingly routine situations. However, healing is possible. Cultivating self-compassion and a belief in oneself can bring about meaningful change. Seeking support and taking small, brave steps toward self-love and courage can make a significant difference. Each step, no matter how small, is a powerful victory. #MentalHealthAwareness #SocialAnxiety #BreakingMyths #SelfCompassion #MANASCVS #HealingJourney

🌱 Overcoming Social Anxiety: A Journey of Growth** 🌱 At MANAS.CVS, we recognize the challenges of dealing with social anxiety. Our latest video portrays a deeply personal journey, illustrating how overwhelming fear and self-judgment can feel all-encompassing, especially when faced with social interactions or stepping outside of one's comfort zone. The narrative takes a significant turn as the individual realizes the need for change. They start with small, meaningful actions: journaling thoughts, practicing deep breathing, and gradually embracing social interactions in manageable steps. Each small victory, though often imperfect, contributes to a growing sense of self-confidence and resilience. This journey reminds us that progress may be slow, but every step forward matters. Growth is possible, and strength can emerge even in the face of deep fears. ✨ **The message: Take that first step toward overcoming your anxiety. Change happens one moment at a time.** We hope this story inspires you to be gentle with your journey and courageous with your steps. Let's support one another in striving for mental well-being. #MentalHealthAwareness #OvercomingAnxiety #MANASCVS #SocialAnxiety #GrowthJourney #StepByStep #manas
