Government of Israel is recruiting 10,000 skilled workers from India to work in the construction sector. Skill development camps are being organized in 23 Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) in Maharashtra in collaboration with the Union Government, Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), along with health camps for the participants. Final interviews by the Israeli team will be held at ITI Aundh, Pune from 17th to 25th September 2024. The 9,000 pre-selected candidates have received SMS for the final interview. A key player in world cashew production, India processes an impressive tonne of 65808.42 million metric (2023-24) cashews annually, with Maharashtra at the forefront, being the largest cashew-producing state, and supporting the livelihoods of over 200,000 farmers who rely on this essential crop. To further strengthen this sector, the Maharashtra Government has taken a decisive step by establishing the Maharashtra Cashew Board. This board has already set up offices in Vengurla, Ratnagiri, and Chandgad—crucial hubs for cashew cultivation and processing. Through the joint efforts of Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA) and Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB), the Cashew Board has set forth the following goals: ● Increase production, processing capacity, and export of the state. ● Offer enhanced support to farmers and processors. ● Drive innovation in processing methods and market expansion. ● Foster sustainable growth by catering to both local and global demands.
