After raising the issue of atrocities against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh in the Lok Sabha yesterday (Dec 16), Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was seen carrying a bag with a message in Parliament today. “The govt should raise the issue of atrocities on minorities, both Hindus and Christians, in #Bangladesh. Should discuss this with Bangladesh govt and support those who are in pain,” she had said. This comes after Priyanka carried a bag emblazoned with ‘Palestine’ to Parliament yesterday. While Congress has treaded a careful line on the #Palestine issue, Priyanka has been outspoken, calling Israeli attacks on Palestine claiming lives of thousands “barbaric” and “genocidal”, and seeking pressure on #Israel to end the war.

"They cannot be treated like animals." Around 400 Rohingya families live in different locations on the outskirts of #Jammu. 2 weeks ago, authorities disconnected #electricity and #water supply to these families. “I bring 1-2 buckets of water from a mosque in Kiryani Talab. With this, we have to fulfil all our daily needs, including cooking and drinking,” Jameel said. J&K CM Omar Abdullah said that the Rohingyas “cannot be made to starve and die when they are here”. Asking Centre for clarity on their status, @OmarAbdullah said, “They were brought and settled here; we did not do that. Now, if the Centre’s policy (on them) has changed, it should take them back.” “However, as long as they (Rohingya) are here, they cannot be treated like animals. They are human beings and shall be treated like humans,” Omar said. According to official data, more than 13,700 foreigners, mostly Rohingyas and #Bangladeshi nationals, live in various districts of #JammuandKashmir. "I was standing near the stairs when #RahulGandhi came and pushed an MP who then fell on me," said BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi. He was rushed for treatment in an ambulance. Rahul Gandhi said that he was trying to get inside the Parliament when he was also pushed by #BJP MPs protesting near the entrance. Both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha were adjourned just minutes into the proceedings today (Dec 19) as the Amit Shah-Ambedkar row remained the centre of focus in #Parliament.
