About us

Our journey started when Mr Nihal Chand Wadhwani, born in 1947, left his prestigious job as a bank employee in India to pursue his love for fashion. His search for better opportunities brought him to Hong Kong in 1973, after which he strongly felt that there was no looking back. In 1978, he finally decided to come back to India and settle down with his own business. Catering to the domestic market starting from north India and eventually the south, his influence grew to deal with sarees made in Lucknow. It wasn't until 2001 when Mr Ashish Wadhwani joined the family business after coming back from Australia. The business was finally booming and House of Fairlady was finally receiving the appreciation we deserved. Mr Ashish had this immense belief that he had to make this work. He had to make it happen. He received his first big project from Louis Vuitton and started the path to becoming the most exquisite fashion export house in India, selling to the top Luxury brands of the world. Fast forward 40 years, we have become one of the most reliable names in terms of our product and services, in the international market."

  • India's fashion scene boasts a dazzling array of regional styles, but one element truly sets it apart - the mesmerizing world of hand embroidery. From the intricate chikankari of Lucknow to the vibrant phulkari of Punjab, each region boasts its own unique style and story. India's hand embroidery traditions represent a rich cultural heritage, with meticulous techniques passed down through generations. These exquisite embellishments elevate garments into treasured possessions, and contemporary designers are reviving the art form by incorporating it into modern silhouettes. We see stunning fusion pieces where intricate embroidery adorns modern silhouettes, and traditional motifs reimagined with a touch of contemporary flair. By supporting ethical sourcing, innovative design applications, and celebrating the artistry through social media, we can ensure hand embroidery continues to stitch a vibrant future into the tapestry of Indian fashion. • Fashion for everyone? Not quite yet. Traditionally, clothing catered to a narrow ideal, leaving many feeling excluded. But the tide is turning! Today's designers are embracing inclusivity, creating garments that celebrate a wider range of body types and styles. This means more sizes, more cuts, and more options to express yourself through fashion, regardless of your shape or preference. What do you think about this shift? • Creative minds abound in fashion schools, but are graduates runway-ready for the industry's fast-paced reality? A heavy focus on theory can leave students feeling lost when faced with the nitty-gritty of fashion production. Embroidery, for instance, thrives on hands-on mastery, not just textbook knowledge. 🪡 Educational institutions need to level up the practical side of things. Workshops, industry internships, and collaborations can bridge the gap between raw creativity and the demands of the business. Imagine a future where fashion education fosters both creative fire and technical finesse. Integrating technical skills directly into the curriculum is key. This collaborative approach would empower graduates to not just survive, but thrive in the cutthroat world of fashion. Are you ready to join the conversation? Let's discuss: is it time for a fashion education revolution that equips graduates with the skills they really need? #fashiondesign #educationrevolution #creativityandskills #industrypreparedness #futureoffashion
