  • FACT: Heat and water stress threaten global food production, with projections showing a 14% decline by 2030. In India, food production could drop by as much as 16.1% in extreme climate change scenarios, increasing food insecurity. Sadly, in 2023 alone, 282 million people were already affected by acute food insecurity, with extreme weather driving the crisis in 18 countries. What happens next? 1️⃣The global number of people facing severe food insecurity could rise between 556 million and 1.36 billion compared to 2020. 2️⃣Moreover, severe climate impacts can turn food-exporting nations like China and ASEAN into food importers. What Needs to Be Done: 1️⃣Investing in climate-resilient agriculture and adaptive measures to mitigate the risks posed by extreme weather is essential. 2️⃣Strategic international trade can help balance the disparities in food availability between water-scarce and surplus regions. The need for sustainable solutions has never been more urgent. Global collaboration and investment in climate adaptation are critical to securing the future of food production. ..................................... Climate change is reshaping global food production, and sustainable interventions are necessary to avoid unprecedented food shortages and insecurity. We at Growit India are trying our best to secure food safety by serving almost 25,000+ farmers. And we hope to add a drop in this vast ocean of fighting against food security. P.S. The time to act is act now! #crisis #farmers #climate

  • Did you know that by 2050, India's population is expected to reach 1.6 billion? This growth poses significant challenges for food security in a country already grappling with agricultural issues. India's food security problems stem from population growth, climate change, and the legacy of the Green Revolution. These factors have created a complex situation that demands innovative solutions. But has the Indian government intervened? 1️⃣ Exploring agroecological farming methods in states like Andhra Pradesh 2️⃣Expanding the Public Distribution System, which covers 800 million Indians 3️⃣Implementing the National Food Security Act (2013) to provide cheap food to the poor. What can we expect if measures are implemented right? 𝟭. 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆. Andhra Pradesh aims to extend natural farming to 6 million farmer families by 2027. 𝟮. 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. Natural farming could reduce unemployment in the 20-64 age group from 30% to 7% by 2050. ......................................... India's food security challenges are significant but manageable. By embracing sustainable farming practices, India can ensure a food-secure future for its growing population. Growit India is forever standing with the farmers & India to safeguard our future. What solutions do you think will have the biggest impact on India's food security? #farmer #solution #foodsecurity

  • The global electric tractor market is expected to grow at a rate of 12.5% annually by 2026. In 2023, the Indian electric tractor market was valued at USD 60 million and is expected to grow by over 10% annually. Apart from using less chemicals, this could be another step to make agriculture more sustainable. How does it benefit us? 𝟭/ 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆: Electric tractors can cut CO2 emissions by up to 40% 𝟮/ 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: Lower fuel costs and reduced maintenance due to fewer moving parts mean significant savings for farmers. 𝟯/ 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Equipped with advanced technologies like GPS and IoT, electric tractors improve precision farming and boost productivity. However, the high initial cost is a challenge. But there is a remedy, too. ------------------- Financial aid and subsidies are helping farmers afford these innovative tractors. The government plans to install 2,500 charging stations by 2025, addressing the issue of charging infrastructure. Thanks to electric tractors, the future of Indian agriculture is green, efficient, and sustainable. This shift is not only beneficial for farmers but also a crucial step toward a greener planet. Growit India is excited to see how this will transform the agricultural world. Team Growit India also celebrates the government's initiative to implement it. #innovation #agriculture #farming

The secret to a healthier and more productive farm might lie under your feet. Weed control is one of the biggest challenges many farmers face, and it has a huge impact on crop health and yield. This is where weed mats come in. They are simple yet effective methods of protecting your crops from weeds. So, what exactly is a weed mat? It is a woven fabric designed to control weeds effectively. Here are 3 benefits: 𝟭/ 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: - Weed mats prevent weeds from growing by blocking the sunlight. - This leads to the growth of healthier crops and better yield. 𝟮/𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀: - Weed mats prevent insects that fly close to the ground from breeding in the soil. - By covering the soil, they offer an additional protection layer. 𝟯/𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: - Weed mats allow water to penetrate in the soil. - This means crops can get water from the soil even during dry seasons. In addition, it also creates a better walkway for farmers during inspection, etc. This reduces the risk of weed seeds moving from one area to another. Growit India understands how troublesome weeds can get and the importance of weed management. That's why we have designed very durable and cost-effective weed mats, making them accessible to every farmer in India. If you're ready to take farming to the next level, Growit India weed mats are the right choice! #seed #farming #crop

  • A new farming technique has been introduced, and it has become the talk of the town. Without much speculation, let us introduce "permaculture farming.". But what is this, and why is everyone talking about it? Permaculture farming is a sustainable and self-sufficient way of growing agricultural ecosystems. It works with nature to create a balanced ecosystem where crops can thrive. It focuses on building healthy soil, a renewable resource that sustains plant and animal productivity and promotes plant and animal health. So why is it so popular? Nowadays, many farmers are looking for more sustainable, environmentally friendly farming methods, and permaculture farming offers them. At Growit India, we, too, support and promote sustainable farming methods, and permaculture farming aligns with our goals. We're excited to see how far this new technique takes us and shapes the farming world. What are your thoughts on this? #agriculture #farming #farmer
