  • We’re excited to bring you another edition of #GoodAdsMatter Ad Makers' Picks, featuring the acclaimed Nils Leonard as our collaborator! Nils has over two decades of experience in the advertising and design industry. With a strong foundation in design, his work for Tate Britain earned him a Grand Prix at the Design Week awards, along with 15 Lions at the Cannes Festival of Creativity. Some of his works include OOH campaigns for British Airways - 'Windows', The Ordinary, and a commercial for B&Q's 'Flip - Change Made Easier.' In addition to our post earlier today, we’re spotlighting the other two of Nils’ top ad picks: Patagonia’s Label ‘Vote the assholes out’ & Nike’s Billboard ‘Yesterday you said tomorrow’. When your shorts speak louder than tweets—Patagonia’s clothing label is the mic drop we didn’t know we needed. Yes, you read that right. The internet buzzed over the Patagonia tag “VOTE THE ASSHOLES OUT” that broke the mold of mundane laundry instructions. Known for taking a stand against climate deniers and political inaction, Patagonia stitched its stance directly into their Regenerative Organic Stand-Up Shorts—because what better place for a bold statement than where you literally stand up? CEO: Yvon Chouinard Director of Copy: Brad Wieners Spokesperson: K. Corley Kenna Procrastination called—Nike just hung up. “Yesterday you said tomorrow.” Just four words, but enough to knock the wind out of your excuses. Nike proved that sometimes, the simplest ads pack the biggest punch. No flashy visuals, no frills—just a bold, straight-talking billboard that tells it like it is. Who else feels personally called out? Agency: Wieden + Kennedy #GoodAdsMatter #Advertising #PrintAds

Some of his works include OOH campaigns for British Airways - 'Windows', The Ordinary, and a commercial for B&Q's 'Flip - Change Made Easier.' Today, we’re spotlighting one of Nil’s top ad picks: Macmillan Cancer Support 'Whatever It Takes'. This ad portrays the daunting reality of living with cancer—both for patients as well as for their caretakers. It captures real-life moments, following a cancer diagnosis—From receiving a difficult diagnosis to managing unexpected challenges, like financial strain and emotional isolation, that many people encounter. The ad captures a spectrum of emotions within a brief timeframe, portraying intimate moments between patients and Macmillan staff. The cinematography keeps the characters central, allowing viewers to witness their emotions and reactions. Set to Max Richter’s 'Spring 1', the ad features scenes of Macmillan staff assisting during pivotal moments of cancer patients’ journeys, demonstrating tenderness, humour, and grit amid the daily challenges of living with cancer. In a world where cancer affects so many lives, here is to ensure no one faces their battle alone. We will be sharing Nils' other picks soon. Stay tuned! #GoodAdsMatter #Advertising #PurposeStudios

  • A tribute like no other, for a legend like no other. #GoodAdsMatter Taj Mahal Tea’s moving print ad celebrates a legacy that redefined both music and advertising. With the timeless insight that a billion Indians hear “Taj Mahal Tea,” but it’s not the monument they think of—it’s the maestro. Ustad Zakir Hussain didn’t just play the tabla; he played a key role in brewing an unforgettable connection between music, culture, and chai. With his artistry and charm, he turned “Wah Taj!” into more than a tagline—it became a national sentiment. From the iconic ad filmed against the Taj Mahal’s grandeur to his witty line “Arey huzoor, wah Taj boliye,” Ustad Zakir Hussain redefined what it means to be a brand ambassador. His tabla rhythms matched the finesse of Brooke Bond Taj Mahal Tea, making the brand a household name. With this campaign, Taj Mahal Tea graciously raises a cup to honor the legend’s legacy, joined by billions echoing the same sentiment. Ustad Zakir Hussain, you were the rhythm of our hearts. • A heartfelt celebration of family, memories, and the holiday spirit. #GoodAdsMatter Toyota’s holiday ad, “Present from the Past,” beautifully captures the magic of meaningful connections. Premiered during NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center, the ad takes us through a touching story of a granddaughter inspired by a vintage camera and her grandmother’s old photographs. Bringing those memories back to life, and recreating each cherished moment with stunning visuals and the evocative track “A Little Love” by Celeste, the ad strikes the perfect balance between nostalgia and the joy of the present. • It’s not just the elevator that’s rising—it’s the bar for creative marketing! #GoodAdsMatter Who knew an elevator ride could be this sweet? Oreo’s ingenious guerrilla marketing stunt turned an ordinary lift into an unmissable spectacle with just one elevator and two mega stickers! One sticker of an Oreo cookie was placed on the moving shaft of the elevator, while another of a giant glass of milk sat on the stationary part. As the elevator moved, it created the delightful illusion of the cookie being dunked into the milk. This head-turning campaign didn’t just move people; it moved the needle on brand creativity––proof that sometimes, all you need is a little lift to make a big impression. • Out of place? Now picture a child here. #GoodAdsMatter All People All Places, an organisation fighting homelessness, is shining a spotlight on a heartbreaking truth: 75,000 children across London are living in unsafe and unsuitable temporary accommodations. These children lose not just their homes but also their friends, schools, and sense of stability. To make this invisible crisis impossible to ignore, the charity placed children’s toys and teddies in rough sleeping spots across London, each holding a sign urging locals to scan and donate. Their message is simple but powerful: “No child should lose their home.” Let us know what you think of this poignant campaign. • How far would you go to honor a dying wish? #GoodAdsMatter Set in rural France, this Stella Artois ad, titled ‘Last Orders’, follows a devoted son fulfilling his father’s deathbed requests—from gathering flowers to fetching honey. But when asked to bring a Stella Artois, temptation strikes. The son can’t resist taking a sip—or more—of the ‘reassuringly expensive’ brew. Stella Artois is celebrated for its premium branding and known for its tagline ‘Reassuringly Expensive’, positioning the beer as a refined choice. If this were you, could you resist a sip of Stella? • Does time really heal everything? #GoodAdsMatter The Center for the Protection of Children’s Rights Foundation has been a relentless advocate for children since 1981. While they were initially focused on rescuing neglected, abused, and exploited children, their mission later expanded to confront the harrowing reality of sexual exploitation and assist young victims of abuse. Their 2013 campaign delivers a powerful visual message: elderly individuals sit solemnly, hands groping at their bodies—ghostly reminders of the abuse they endured as children. It is a stark and moving portrayal of how childhood trauma leaves a mark that even the passage of time alone cannot erase. This isn’t just a campaign—it is a call to action, because protecting childhood means safeguarding futures.
