The scores were level going into the first rest day. And it remains equal after - Game 4 of the World Chess Championship between D Gukesh and Ding Liren ends in a draw. It was already known that Richard Rapport is one of the seconds of Ding Liren. Today he was seen in good spirits before the game - accompanied by Chinese GM Ni Hua! Today's opening choice by Ding Liren seemed like yet another unconventional idea prepared by Rapport - starting with 1.Nf3, and choosing the Zukertort opening and playing 5.Ba3! It seemed like a slow position with many nuances, but there was no danger for Black out of the opening. Both players had some long thinks - Gukesh managed to fully equalize soon. Both the players were very accurate in their play, and the game ended in a well-contested draw after 42 moves. It seemed both players are happy with the result today. Ding mentioned in the press conference that he's happy how the opening went, and he's fully recovered from the loss on Game 3. Gukesh should be happy with a comfortable draw with the Black pieces, while the scores are level! Game 5 starts tomorrow at 2:30 PM IST, where Gukesh will have the White pieces. Who do you think will win - or will we see another draw? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Photos: Maria Emelianova, Eng Chin An #DingGukesh #WorldChessChampionship2024

The Freestyle Chess is a varient of Chess in which all major pieces behind the pawns are kept in any random order (non standard)! So, this makes players to think from Move 1 and lot of theory of Chess in standard position isn’t relevant. Magnus Carlsen & Fabiano Caruna (World No. 1 & 2 respectively) are set to play 2 games in Singapore organised by Freestyle Chess!
