📈 Bank Asset Quality Improves, Despite Rise in SMA-2 Loans in Q2 FY25 📉 🔹 SMA-2 on the Rise: Some banks reported an increase in SMA-2 (Special Mention Accounts) loans, the overall asset quality has improved significantly in the July-September quarter. A few banks like Jammu & Kashmir Bank, RBL Bank, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Bank, and Canara Bank noted an uptick in SMA-2 loans due to delayed payments from state or central government accounts. 🔸 NPA Ratios Remain Stable: State-owned banks reported net NPAs in the range of 0.20% to 0.98%, and private banks maintained their ratios between 0.2% and 1.50%, reflecting consistent asset management.
