AI: The Pen Pal That's Rewriting Creativity ✍️ In the hallowed halls of literature, a new correspondent has arrived, one whose letters are composed in binary and whose ink never runs dry. Artificial Intelligence, that silicon-brained wunderkind of our digital age, has picked up its metaphorical pen and begun to scribble in the margins of human creativity. Imagine, if you will, a world where the Muses whisper in algorithmic tongues, where inspiration strikes at the speed of light, and where writer's block is nothing more than a quaint relic of a bygone era. This is not the stuff of science fiction, dear reader, but the very real landscape of our literary present. As AI dips its digital quill into the inkwell of imagination, we find ourselves awash in a sea of questions more profound than Proust and more numerous than Dickens' characters. Can a machine, no matter how sophisticated, truly capture the exquisite agony of a broken heart or the dizzying euphoria of a first kiss? Will it ever grasp the delicious irony of a well-timed pun or the bittersweet nostalgia of a childhood memory half-remembered? The publishing houses, those venerable bastions of the written word, now find themselves in a plot twist worthy of Agatha Christie. Will they embrace this new pen pal, or clutch their human-written manuscripts close to their chests, eyeing the newcomer with suspicion? Perhaps we'll soon see books proudly sporting labels proclaiming "100% Organic Human Creativity" 🏷️, right next to the gluten-free and fair-trade certifications. Yet, as we stand at this literary crossroads, teetering between tradition and innovation, we must ask ourselves: Could this digital Pen Pal be the key to unlocking new realms of human creativity? Might it be the perfect sounding board for our wildest ideas, the ideal collaborator who never sleeps, never gets writer's block, and never steals our favorite coffee mug? As the final chapter of this tale has yet to be written, we find ourselves at a cliffhanger of cosmic proportions. Will the next great American novel be penned by flesh and blood, or bits and bytes? Will our future poets laureate have CPUs instead of brain cells? Or will we find a harmonious duet between the silicon symphony and the human heart's melody? The pen is poised, the cursor blinks expectantly, and the next word... well, that's up to us. Or is it? What you are seeing is a mistake. It must be. Adobe is a great company, but even the great ones make mistakes. I was trying out Adobe Podcast to enhance the audio quality of my podcast. - The Engagement Lab, with Yahav Levy as my co-host (it is in Hebrew). The freemium allows up to 30-minute-long audio files; my episode was 40 minutes long. So what do I do? Upgrade. This is an excellent example of how setting your freemium/premium threshold can encourage upgrades. Anyhow, I click the upgrade and get the attached "give me your money" paywall. That's fine. That's what I expected... in a way. I was expecting access to Adobe Podcast, not Adobe Express. You know what, that's fine. Maybe Adobe Express is the better deal for me. But, What is it? In what way is it better for me? I'm a podcaster, not a designer... So, excuse me if I don't know what Adobe Express is! And even with all that empty space on the paywall, Adobe didn't find it necessary to mention it. And that's the mistake. Now what? Should I go off-tab to search for an explanation of what Adobe Express is? See if it's worth my buck. Or should I search for an alternative? Adobe Podcasters are not your usual customers. They may not know what Adobe Express is. A Podcaster subscription is a better fit for them, but if that's not doable... Could you tell them what they'll get for the Express subscription? Now, you don't need me to tell you that. I just wanted to bring your attention to this. But also use this opportunity as a lesson for those just starting their startup. A paywall is not a technical thing. It should be the beginning of a relationship. It's almost like a first date. Could you make it feel special?

So - what is your take on OPM? From the first day I took over Neurotek - I am telling my team that we are not OPM. My take on OPM is - Other's People Money. We focus on three things only:  1 - Increase international sales (over +60% YOY)  2 - Keep our books cash positive  3 - Continue to innovate - within budget Looks like "we are back to basics". Making sure that we spend only what we earn, as we don't have Other's People Money... What about your company?

Resilient people comprise a resilient team, which, in the end, translates to a resilient organization. Today, I continued introducing my team at AppFox to psychological resilience, which we have been exploring over a series of sessions I started some time ago. This time, I presented the BASIC Ph model developed by Israeli therapist Mooli Lahad. This model assesses how we manage stress and which coping mechanisms we use the most and the least. Their combination forms each person's unique coping style. Being aware of your coping "configuration" is crucial for understanding yourself and developing your resilience. I am so happy to contribute to the team's well-being by introducing the knowledge and skills I gained from my counseling practice.

This post is dedicated to my non-Israeli friends. But everyone’s welcome to read it :)   I’m sitting down to write this post about 10 minutes before the Israeli Memorial Day transitions to our Independence Day. Every year this is a nearly unbearable transition, from deep sadness to pride and joy. We are taught, from a very young age (as early as 6 years old, as I learned this year through my son), that these two dates were set intentionally, so that us Israelis will always remember that our independence came, and keeps coming, at great cost. This year, I feel it’s even worse than unbearable. It’s simply impossible. I find myself uncapable of celebrating Independence Day. As a nation and a country, we’re still at war. As an individual (and far from being the only one feeling like this), I’m still mourning. I truly believe we should still find ways to be happy and participate in or even initiate whatever activities that serve that purpose. But highlighting the achievement of becoming an independent country, of forming a safe country for Jewish people.. Right now it just doesn’t feel like the right time to do that.     And here’s why I’m writing to you, non-Israelis. I want to tell you more about what I’m mourning. I hope this will help those of you who see Israel at a mostly negative light, better understand the complexity of our reality.   Personally, I fully acknowledge Israel shares the responsibility over the truly shitty life of the people of Gaza. Along with that, I’m mourning what Israelis must live through right now: The tragic loss of so many loved ones, so many of them in terrible ways that I don’t think I’ll ever dare expose myself to. The need to leave their homes, and uproot their families, their whole lives. The fear that we’ll never feel safe again, not in Israel, and not anywhere else. The feeling I often struggle with, that I might never fully recover from my personal Oct 7 experience. That I will never be my best self again because of it – not the best mother I want to be, not the best partner, not the best friend, not the best employee.   So back to the complexity – you see, almost all Israelis are like me. People who just want to feel safe, just want to provide their kids with everything they need, just want to be able to celebrate without thinking about all that is wrong in the world.   I’m proud to be Israeli, although I’ve never felt more challenged to say it out loud.

A week ago today I took the stage at Content Israel as a key speaker. I transparently shared in a room with over 300 fellow marketers that the first thing my CEO always asks me when we brainstorm a new campaign or program is, “Jen, what’s your content distribution plan?” 7 days and 3 hours to the dot, Daniel Kushner 🐙 asked me to provide my content distribution plan for one of our latest customer programs ( side note: super excited to launch, it's still top secret, so do stay tuned) And you know what was front and center as part of that distribution plan? #EmployeeAdvocacy. Why? Because when you understand how to use employee networks to distribute your content you crack the code in making sure your content is seen by the right people, from the right people in your organization. You create meaningful and personalized customer journeys. You stay true to what social media was intended for-- being social, and build a people-to-people connection. You use the authentic voices of your employees to share the content you’ve worked so hard to create ensuring that your content sees the light of day, you get the credit you deserve, and you can measure the actual engagement and reach of that content far beyond your corporate profile. And most importantly, you build meaningful relationships and can understand what content was used to help build them... So my question to you is, do you include #EmployeeAdvocacy as part of your distribution plan? Sharing my slide on my thought process on how to use advocacy to build meaningful customer journeys if some may find it helpful.
