The following is an absolutely astonishing, wonderfully uplifting 24 minute video about the return, collaboration, cooperation, and recent rejuvenation of Western Negev agriculture, even while the Gaza War was underway, in the days and weeks after the initial October attacks. It focuses particularly on field crops and dairy; about planting 5300 hectares of potatoes [1/3 of Israeli production, with seedlings flown in from Holland!]; and the restarting of dairies - feeding, and milking amidst the devastation and physical ruins, mainly within in a few kibbutzim, but touching on the entire region. The video's name is "The Wheat Is Growing Again", and it was created by an independently funded "Citizen Journalist" by the name of Biton News. Unfortunately, original narration and subtitles are only in Hebrew, but the energy, joi de' vive, and determination is palpable! It is possible to add English and other languages as "Auto Translate" Subtitles through the "Settings", because it is a brilliant video, and clearly demonstrates why Israel will never lose! Setting Auto Translate Captions in YouTube It is a bit finicky - you may need to experiment a little. 1) Go into "Settings" [cogwheel sign]; 2) Go into "Subtitles/CC". 3) You probably need to click "Auto Translate", then choose your preferred language - there are quite a few, from "Hebrew > XYZ"; 4) The Subtitle Translation is only for this individual video, not a general video play setting. The translation isn't great - it YT doesn't translate Hebrew idiom and colloquialisms well, but it's better than nothing! Your stomach will churn seeing the pictures and vistas, because it is a beautiful, powerful, and positive video. https://lnkd.in/gTWtJn5m

It was a beautiful serendipitous evening in Tel Aviv... A big thank you to Omer Kalderon from State of Mind Ventures (SOMV) and Yaara Kassner from Vertex Ventures for hosting, and including me Though I did not know what to expect, it was a wonderful experience, an open vibe… and one of the aspects I appreciate about the Israeli tech ecosystem Many of the senior professionals I work with are in venture, and make up the bulk of my agency’s work. So, in being venture adjacent, I always appreciate connecting with professionals in the space in order to understand what their current professional challenges are When I used to attend events, I would wonder how can I help people I meet, and I would try to connect them with other professionals, but a lot of people know other people Today with the marketing knowledge I’ve developed through experience, I can be of better service, and offer practical and tactical advice if someone asks. Despite the noise, I believe there is still an opportunity for investors to build thought leadership on LinkedIn, and since it is often partner-driven, brand is EVERYTHING As such, I met some awesome people last night, and caught up with some old friends… Below are the are micro-learnings from some of the people I met, as every conversation is an opportunity to learn something Perri Finkelstein at Beyond Partners - On the importance of having a clear vision of what one wants to accomplish, going for it, and getting it! Yaron Carni at Maverick Ventures Israel - On understanding and investing in people, and showing up with a positive mindset no matter what… and having that winner's mindset Shahar Matorin at Startup Grind Israel - The power of community, and yes, it’s often touted on LinkedIn, but it’s really that important, and while this term is not used in Israel, the virtue of being a servant-leader Yael Eckstein at StageOne Ventures - In understanding what it takes to successfully market a VC, not just in Israel, but on a global scale, and how to effectively juggle many different tasks at one time Niv H. from Vintage Investment Partners - Relating on the importance of being in nature, and how it brings clarity when trying to accomplish a task... as well as the necessity of resilience Yael Yeger - The value of being intentional, and on the importance of planning ahead, especially when you’re traveling and want to connect with the right people Allie Feuerstein from GroundUp Ventures - On understanding the value of having a strong online brand, and that there are opportunities for investors if they put themselves out there Roy Mendel from WINN.AI - That it is difficult now, but it's better to be optimistic, even during this time... and that often it’s hard to read the label when you’re in the jar I had a few other thoughtful conversations, but I do have space limitations But this is just the beginning of the conversation... #startupnation #thoughtleadership #communitybuilding

Over the past decade, I have reviewed over 1,000 cv's in search for the best team members to join our team. I see a lot of people in Israel in need of jobs these days so sharing some tips from my experience as a manager and Organizational Psychologist that I hope can be helpful. If you have any questions or additional insights, please feel free to comment below or pm me. I divided the job-seeking journey into 4 stages: 1. Self-reflection 2. CV building 3. Networking 4. “Dating” your future boss In this post I will cover some pointers for the first 3 stages. Next post will cover pointers for the last stage. *Self-reflection* 1. Self-reflection and understanding what you are good at and what you are passionate about. 2. Who are you - Need to be able to answer this in 2-3 lines at the top of the CV. Are you a manager and looking to be in a leadership role or more of a hands-on executive? Is your focus marketing/sales/coding/project management? Pro tip: Ask your friends to be honest with you and share the value they see you bring. It will crystalize your own view as well. *CV and LinkedIn profile* 1. CV building - how does your future boss know you are great at what you do? What success and impact did you have that you can articulate with numbers? 2. The design is great. But the most important is the content. Make sure clear description in the header what you do and keep it short, with bullet points and a 1-pager. Make sure no mistakes. If there is even 1 typo, it is a no-go. 3. Passion talks. Years ago I hired a young man with very little experience because he came with great passion and told me how he taught himself code at age 11. See how you can find that story that highlights your greatness. *Networking* 1. Networking and asking friends for an intro or to put in a good word. Identify 10 people you will have coffee with to brainstorm your career. Some will give you great advice. Others will give you a good lead. 2. Don't only think about networking with those who can give you the job today but rather with those who know people that can help you. 3. The best way to build trust is to show your work in action. I once hired someone because he reached out and explained to me in a loom video why one of my client websites stinked and how that can be fixed. He didn't tell me what he does but showed me. What tips have you found as a manager that you would give future employees?

Please watch this video if you cherish life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The POTUS seems to have been hijacked not only by dementia, but also by Islamism, which is sweeping the free world like wildfire. As if 9/11 wasn’t enough. As if Oct 7 wasn’t enough. As if hijacking higher education and our economies in the free world wasn’t enough. It’s time for civil people to take back control and defeat Islamism. The only party that offers a way out right now are the Republicans as seen in this video, along with the Israelis who are fighting this evil while sacrificing their brightest in the process. Please consider making a donation to the speakers in this video, to Israeli soldiers at the IDF, and most importantly - speak up! Sitting quietly on the sidelines as the foundations of the civil world are shaken by Islamism (take 2, after WW2... Islamism is the ideology that inspired German National Socialism, and the one that denies it ever happened while disseminating Mein Kampf in Islamist school systems) is the worst we all could do. If you’re a Muslim that fled Islamism to live in democracies like the U.S. or Israel, you especially are indebted to uphold the values of life, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness. If you consider yourself a liberal, if you’re gay - you especially are indebted to uphold the values of life, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness - you saw what it’s like under German National Socialism - which is today’s Progressivism, brainwashed by Islamism. Let’s fight and reject this horrific evil of Islamism together. There is no other way.

Following the war that unfortunately broke out on 07.10.2023, the Israeli economy has been facing several difficult challenges in the past year. 📊 A new report by the Israel Innovation Authority רשות החדשנות provides an up-to-date picture of Israeli high-tech, here are some important points: 🔷 Regarding investments, the total capital raised by technology companies in Israel from October 7 to mid-August 2024 - the period of the war - is close to 9 billion dollars. This amount is similar to the amounts raised in parallel periods in previous years, except for the peak years of 2020-2022. 🔷 The total investment in Israel was the 3rd largest in the world compared to other countries. In particular, the total investment in Israel was higher than hubs such as Paris, London, and Boston and lower only than that of Silicon Valley and New York. 🔷 During the war, there was no significant change in the number of venture capital funds active in Israel, especially in the number of foreign funds, which make up about two-thirds of the venture capital funds active in Israel. 🔷 In 2023, the last year for which some data allows an international comparison, the number of people employed in high-tech in Europe grew by about 5%, in the US by about 2.8%, and in Israel by about 2.6%, close to the natural growth rate of the population 🇮🇱 💻 💡 💪🏼 #innovation #develop #startups #finance #tech #Israel #innovative ##technology #report

"If you want to raise capital, invest in branding." I had the pleasure of attending the Apex Group Ltd Israel Summit, Co-hosted with Brooks-Keret Financial Management, which focused on Israel's Diverse Capital Raising & Private Equity Landscape. The event provided valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in fundraising, including alternative financing methods. A highlight was the insightful lecture by Dr Bhaskar Dasgupta, Chairman of the Board & Non-Executive Director, Apex UAE, Bahrain, Israel & India Boards. 💡His key takeaway? "If you want to raise capital, invest in branding." This resonated with me as a crucial reminder for entrepreneurs seeking funding. #capitalraising #privateequity #Israel #entrepreneurship

Mergers and acquisitions in the Israeli high-tech landscape In the dynamic world of high-tech business, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) play a central role in shaping the industry. Whether driven by growth strategies, market consolidation or financial restructuring, M&A transactions require careful planning, legal expertise and strategic foresight. In a challenging economic environment like Israel's, where the high-tech sector is thriving, understanding the nuances becomes even more critical. Key considerations in mergers and acquisitions transactions Due diligence: Know your target **Thorough Investigation**: Before proceeding with any M&A transaction, perform extensive due diligence. Scrutinize the finances, intellectual property, contracts and potential liabilities, in High Tech Specific Due Diligence in the technology field, evaluate technology assets, patents, software licenses and cyber security protocols. Navigating the Legal Maze: Antitrust Laws and Competition The Israeli Competition Authority closely monitors the activity of mergers and acquisitions. Understanding Merger Control Regulations and Thresholds Sector-Specific Regulations High-tech sectors (such as cyber security, artificial intelligence and biotechnology) may have unique regulatory requirements. Balancing Risk and Reward: Valuation methods: appropriate valuation techniques (DCF, market comparison, etc.). High-tech companies often have intangible assets that affect the valuation. Risk-adjusted pricing: assessing risks associated with technological disruptions, market volatility and economic downturns. Integration Planning: Post-Merger Synergy - Cultural integration: Align organizational cultures to avoid conflicts. - Technological integration: harmonization of IT systems, data and processes. - Talent retention: retention of key employees critical to innovation. Legal advisor: The North Star in mergers and acquisitions Hiring lawyers experienced in mergers and acquisitions at an early stage of the process. They provide legal insights, negotiate terms and ensure compliance. Risk reduction: lawyers identify legal risks, draft watertight agreements and navigate complex legal frameworks. Advice and counsel: Seek legal advice on deal structure, tax implications and regulatory compliance. The role of lawyers 1. Israel GPO: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Remarks at the Start of the Government Meeting to Approve the 2025 State Budget. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, today (Thursday, 31 October 2024), at the start of the Government meeting to approve the 2025 state budget [translated from Hebrew]: "We are in the midst of a war. Our security depends on the security services, the IDF and other elements, which are properly equipped, both spiritually and materially. Our security also depends on the economy. We cannot have a strong military if we have no way of financing it. Therefore, security depends on the economy, but the economy also depends on security. If it is possible to strike the heart of our cities, our industry and our citizens, then it is clear that our economic capability will be harmed. Therefore, security and the economy are interdependent. There is no doubt that we have a strong economy and a strong military. The strength of the military and the security ability of the State of Israel were expressed this past year, especially last month, in an extraordinary fashion, which has inspired out friends and struck fear into our enemies. This is ongoing. We are not finished and major things are yet before is; however, there is no doubt that there is security ability here that must be backed by economic capability. On the other hand, the Israeli economy has shown surprising resilience. It is clear that the war has costs – very heavy costs, not just in lives but also materially, and this is self-evident. But for a country that has been attacked on seven fronts, the Israeli economy has shown extraordinary resilience, which is a result of the free economy that we have built here, the sense of initiative instilled in our people and the rallying of our citizens. I greatly appreciate the effort by the Finance Minister to continue our economic resilience and also to prove that even in time of trial, we meet the test. On the other hand, we recognize that we have new objectives that we will need to meet. These objectives are mainly directed – of course – to the security sphere, which we must reinforce. It is clear that there is no economy without limits. There is no economy without restrictions, If you give to one place, you unfortunately need to take from another. There are ways to do this. We will discuss this at the present meeting and I assume that by the end of today or early tomorrow, we will conclude our deliberations and have good news for the State of Israel, Israel's security and the Israeli economy." We all recognize the pivotal role of exceptional military leadership in guiding Israel toward peace and prosperity. Today, the people of Israel understand the urgent need for a seasoned command structure that is proactive, forward-thinking, and anchored in our core values, with an unwavering commitment to the Zionist principles of national security. To ensure our national survival, we must act immediately – indeed, we are eight months too late. To this end, IDSF is establishing a pre-army (mechina) program in Moshav Takuma in the Gaza envelope. The future military leaders of Israel will emerge from this program, well-prepared to confront the challenges of senior military leadership. The IDSF was founded four years ago by Brigadier General (res) Amir Avivi, and already has 30,000 members from all across the Israeli society. It is led by senior military commanders in reserve, educators, and professionals, and acts in the Israeli and international media, social media, Congress, the Knesset, in the education system and advises the Israeli authorities and defense establishment to ensure Israel’s security for generations to come. Our website: idsf.org.il We are establishing a training ground where leaders are forged – where lions are nurtured! Join us in investing in the future leadership of the IDF and the State of Israel. https://lnkd.in/ddFjRxps

40,000. Let that sink in. Time is the enemy of everything, if you can weather the storm, time, you will find yourself and your company achieving awesome things. We are surviving, and I am excited now that the platform is built to bring in additional members to clean up the css to get it out to the public. I recommend honestly the bootstrap approach until things stabilize or serious funding or revenue are coming in. hire the talent you need to address the problem. half of companies kill themselves out of ego in hiring those who contribute to long term solutions that may exacerbate the short term. food for thought. it's only on supporting each other, rowing together, we weather the storm. #israel #israeliinnovation

TL; DR: We’ve closed our first investment! About a year ago, Daniel Algor and I founded MYC, a private investment firm dedicated to driving value creation for imperfect industrial businesses—hidden gems—within the Israeli middle market, recognizing the immense untapped potential within this sector. I’m excited to announce that we have finalized our first investment in Messilot, a leading manufacturer of steel components and wires designed for high-reliability applications that require long service life, all while meeting the highest international standards. We thank our investors and the stellar management team at Messilot for helping us achieve this milestone. The past year has been challenging on many fronts, but we remained committed to advancing our venture and completing this first investment round. Particularly during these times, we see the importance of investing in Israeli companies. We believe investments like these, and others, can play a significant role in fostering economic development in Israel. Looking ahead, we are eager to explore more opportunities while building our network of partners and investors. Wishing for better days ahead—for good business and for peace, here and throughout our region.
