😇𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭: Yotpo 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐀. 😇 Asaf (our COO) and I just finished an amazing week in LA, meeting some of our top current and future customers and agency partners. I cannot emphasize enough the amount of learning we had and the pages of notes we took on product roadmap, marketing ideas, how to make sure our agency program is the best there is, market understanding, and eventually meeting amazing entrepreneurs in their journey building in eCommerce. We started the week meeting the amazing team from Barefoot Dreams, Inc., who are just launching such an exciting loyalty program (kudos to Kristen and Jamie)! The fabric of their robes is unbelievable; buy it for someone you love. Robbie, you had a huge impact on their ability to launch on time, kudos man. Then we had such an inspiring meeting with Sammy (thank you Sara, the rooftop was amazing as well). I think your insights are going to define a big portion of our email and agency roadmap for the next 12 months. I still cannot believe I was so impressed by someone who named his agency after his cat, I hate cats. 🐈 ❌ Tuesday morning, we met with the one-man show of Saie, John Perasco, one of the most amazing human beings, and we geeked out on the amazing options we are building together when you combine loyalty and subscription solutions on the same data platform. We are going to make a massive impact with this combo, and I'm so excited about it. It made us so happy to hear how he speaks about Anna Lesser—you are having a huge impact. Right after, meeting with Thomas and the rest of the PACSUN team was all about our AI innovation in reviews and how our insights product can level up their merchandising. Then, unfortunately, the LA traffic hit, and we got just on time to meet the amazing Murad UK team. Seeing what Soo, Lisa, and the rest of the team are doing is awesome. Besides being the nicest person I probably met, Soo gave us some great feedback and product ideas we are going to implement. We came out so excited about the future of this partnership. Justin, you should have heard the compliments Soo gave you. Tuesday continued with meeting the lean and mean team of Milani Cosmetics. It's amazing to see how a small team, with the command of Jeremy, can make so much happen in retail, Amazon, and DTC. We are going to bring in an agency to unlock some DTC growth for the 2nd half of the year. Oh, and the dogs were amazing—next time, I am bringing Charlie! 🐶 Diego really looking forward to start workin together.

Apparently, there is not a lot of consensus among experts about when to pick a specific Facebook ad objective. Two weeks ago during our DBUG event, we convened ~30 Facebook advertisers to review & discuss data gathered from the 130+ respondents of our Facebook Ad objectives survey. (Full access to data here: https://lnkd.in/d9Cz3X6S)    Here are the key takeaways from our discussion, presented by our 7 breakout room leaders: (See the video below to hear it directly from them.)   1️⃣ B2B & B2C differ significantly in objective preferences Leah Mazur highlighted the contrast in objective preferences between B2B and B2C marketers. While B2B focuses on targeted campaigns and brand awareness extensively leveraging integrations with external tools to do so, B2C opts for broader audiences and conversion-centric strategies, relying more on Facebook's Ads Manager for on-the-fly adjustments.   2️⃣ ROAS is insufficient as the sole budgeting metric Mazur also pointed out that not a lot of marketers are relying on ROAS as the sole budget-setting metric, especially post-iOS 14 updates making it harder to track actual results from click to conversion. It’s becoming clear that ROAS might not capture the full picture of advertising impact, necessitating a broader analytical approach.   3️⃣ Budgeting requires a multi-faceted approach Kathryn Dee stressed the importance of using a mix of past performance, competitive analysis, and ROAS among other variables to determine ad budgets. Her breakout room’s discussion underscored the necessity of adapting strategies to include multiple factors like seasonality and market experiments too.   4️⃣ Marketers need a broader view of ad objectives Emily Miles and Eric Saar both stressed the need for a more holistic approach to ad objectives beyond traditional leads or conversions, leveraging different objectives at different times or to create/warm-up audiences.   5️⃣ Strategic quantification of ad objectives is crucial Silvio Perez emphasized the strategic quantification of ad objectives, especially in B2B with long sales cycles. He advocated for a hypothesis-driven approach to ad spending, urging marketers to define clear performance metrics beyond superficial engagement.   6️⃣ Specific objectives can optimize or detract from ad experiences Alexander Ferenczi elaborated on how specific objectives could enhance or impair the ad experience, discussing the strategic use of engagement campaigns to improve CPM and build social proof of your ads.     8️⃣ Flexibility in objective strategy is key for certain industries and campaign Jack Shepler underscored the challenges faced in health-related advertising, focusing on reach and awareness over conversions due to stringent industry regulations.   Don’t miss our next DBUG session on September 27th, where we'll discuss how to best align sales & marketing in 2024!
