An American Fund Raised $160 Million to Invest in Israeli Startups Flint Capital, a Boston-based firm, closed a VC fund totalling $160 million. The raised fund will help early-stage Israeli and European startups in cybersecurity, fintech, digital health, enterprise SaaS, and B2C entering the American market. The new fund will invest in 25 companies with Israeli founders, Israeli pre-seed VC funds, and European startups. Flint Capital has three unicorns in its portfolio, one of them is the Israeli one - WalkMe. It has also invested in Israeli companies CyberX (acquired by Microsoft) and Voca.ai (acquired by Snap). “Israeli entrepreneurs are some of the most resilient people in the world. IVC Data and Insights report on the Israeli venture market for Q1-Q3 2024 reveals: - $7.4 billion invested in Israeli startups, surpassing the entire 2023 total of $6.9 billion. - $13 billion generated from exits, a 26% increase from 2023's $10.4 billion. - 23% surge in foreign investments year-over-year. - 67% of capital sourced from global investors, with 33% from Israeli funds. - $2.7 billion secured by early-stage startups, the second-highest figure in Israeli startup ecosystem history (after 2022's record). The Israel Innovation Authority (IIA), the branch of government dedicated to bolstering the national tech ecosystem, and the Ministry of Finance have announced the launch of the Yozma Fund 2.0, which is designed to encourage investment in Israeli high-tech through Israeli VC funds.  Almost all of the country’s largest institutional investment bodies opted to participate in the fund, among them Phoenix Insurance Group, Harel Insurance & Finance, Menora Mivtachim Group and Meitav - מיטב בית השקעות Dash. “The goal of the Yozma 2.0 Fund is to increase the share of local investment in the high-tech sector and create stability in long-term investments.
