Well, he recently received a work contract from a potential employer. As we've been working together for a while, he reached out to me for assistance in reviewing the contract. We sat down together and carefully went over the document. I walked him through each clause, ensuring he fully understood the terms. We distinguished between what's mandated by law and what additional benefits were being offered. The sequence in which you bring up different aspects can significantly impact the overall outcome. Finally, we discussed how to frame his requests effectively. He successfully negotiated most of his desired terms! But here's the kicker – and the most tangible outcome: He secured an increase of 500 NIS per month over the initial salary offer. "You're being too negative." Not exactly the feedback I was expecting during a complimentary call with a potential client today. But you know what? I'm thankful for it. Why? Because sometimes, the most valuable insights come from the most uncomfortable truths. It made me realize how important it is to create a positive narrative, especially for those people who don't know me, never interacted with my content before, and are meeting me for the first time during that short 20-minute phone call. But let me be honest - maintaining positivity hasn't been easy lately. In the last couple of days, it's been challenging to embody our Israeli motto of "deliver no matter what" in these uncertain times. The constant threat of a major attack against our country weighs heavily on all of us. We never know exactly when it might happen or how it'll affect our lives going forward. Despite these challenges, this feedback made me realize how crucial it is to frame difficulties in a constructive light, even when addressing harsh realities. To my followers and friends, the lesson I learned today is: Remember that not every day will be your best, and that's okay. What matters is how we learn and grow from our mistakes. While this experience may have cost me a potential client, it reinforced an important principle: the power of learning with the hurdles life brings us.
