A few weeks ago I spoke to Jordan Koene about how to build resilience in an ever-changing & challenging environment, which, in SEO, is the norm. Because, let's face it, getting up when you have fallen once is doable. Getting up the 50th time, is, well, tough. Partly because we glamorise failure, like in the movies, and forget about the pain. So what can you do that is will help? 1. Treat and speak to yourself well. Negative talk will make you feel like rubbish, and besides, would you say those things to someone else? 2. Remember, if you're starting something new, don't expect it to go well the first time. In fact, accept that the first 20 ish times it will not go as you want. After all, you are learning. 3. Every single goal that you have is there to help you get better at being you. The actual goal is just a vehicle. Today's best marketing is all about focusing on the customer. It's about understanding how they buy things and what journey they take. It's about listening to what they say and quickly adapting based on their feedback. It's also about meeting customers where they spend their time - whether that's TikTok, Instagram, or somewhere else. Even if you don't think your business fits on a certain social media site at first, you have to go there if that's where your customers are. So ask your customers: What social media sites do you spend time on? Don't guess. Listen to them and be there for them on the sites and apps they prefer. The old way of marketing talked to people. The new way is a conversation, adapting to what customers want and need. Follow their lead, not your assumptions, and you'll win them over.
