It's time for a 99 and some reflection! Summer is here and the temperature is rising. This is an opportunity to improve business processes. Most decisions to change software are down to poor implementation and being sold a solution that is not what the business needs. The Human Tissue Bill, or #OrganHarvesting Bill, particularly its opt-out clause for organ donation, reflects ongoing debates about transparency, healthcare accountability, and ethical governance. RTE vote counter feature shows proportional representation very nicely using data visualisation. It shows how Willie O'Dea's surplus distributes after Mr O'Dea is returned on the 5/6th count in Limerick City. Never seen the distribution demonstrated or explained so clearly. In my opinion this is much fairer system than UK, US where members of congress & MPs can hold seats for 40 years effortlessly. One of the key takeaways for me from today's event at ESRI's HQ in Dublin was how COVID-19 exacerbated existing levels of poverty and disadvantage in certain areas in Ireland. People in these areas, in some instances, had no choice but to put themselves at greater risk because of social and economic factors, the insights from the report really put this into context. These areas are identified by the Pobal HP Deprivation Index and really require greater targeting when it comes to providing local services and support in a national wider context.
