Decisions, Decisions.... The last webinar in the spring series is just a few days away. If you haven't already signed up, there is still time! you can do so at www.whitespire.ie I have covered this topic in workshops a number of times before and the takeaway that emerges is that decision making bottlenecks are heightened if trust is low or company objectives are ambiguous. In this webinar I'll talk about how to put in guiderails to allow people to make decisions with confidence within their sphere of control. Check it out on Monday! #decisionmaking #leadership #operationalexcellence

Today myself and our FP&A lead will deep dive into our Irish operation, looking at the growth, opportunities and strategy in our first foreign market. Whilst our Irish launch has been a huge success in its own right, it’s played a crucial role in our broader internationalisation and expansion strategy. 🛑 🚗 It’s allowed us to get comfortable operating in barrier-led markets and sectors, rather than the pure play ANPR we more commonly deploy in the UK. This has led us to create a fully proprietary exit lane kiosk, adapt our ANPR solution so that it can interface with any barrier, build out intercom support and establish a relationship to manual enforcement offerings. 🇪🇺 💵 It’s pushed us to extend our solution to be multi-lingual and multi-currency. 🚘 It’s seen us adapt our solution to support detection and processing of number plates in any format. 📈It’s allowed us to validate and confirm that our strong unit economics are not purely UK-specific. 🌐 It’s seen us ready our domain and infrastructure strategy to be multi-domain and locally-served. Many of those developments have bled into our UK offering, and given us confidence with local authority and alternative sectors we would otherwise not have been optimised for.

Exciting news! RedOrange AI has been shortlisted for the National Startup Award! 🚀 The seed for RedOrange was planted during my last trip to India, brainstorming with my amazing team. At the time, we were building a tailored cloud security solution for an SME client, but a question kept echoing: How can we create a broader impact through our product? Then, something hit close to home. A third-party data breach exposed my organization’s accounting data, resulting in a regulatory notice from our accounting company. I realized how regulatory changes and growing compliance demands were making it increasingly challenging to operate, especially for smaller businesses. Being both a small business owner and part of the cloud security industry, I saw firsthand how simplified solutions could make a real difference. Together with the RedOrange team, we started intense technical and market research and quickly uncovered a core problem: compliance is a pressing issue for smaller companies, both in terms of growth and risk management. Within two months, we had built our MVP, and I’m thrilled to share that we’re now rolling out our pilot program with early clients. We’re on track for general availability by January, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead! A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. Here’s to making compliance simpler and more accessible for all. Work isn’t a place — it is a set of activities that we engage in to achieve desired results. The ongoing debate around #hybridworking reflects this truth and challenges leaders to consider the best paths forward. In a Business Post piece published this week, Eimear Harty articulates the hybrid working strategy at Bank of Ireland and our focus on empowering teams and individuals to understand, to own, to be accountable for, and to work in ways that deliver great outcomes for our colleagues and our customers. #flexibility #leadership #inclusion #futureofwork

Excellent Tech Industry Alliance Tech talk this morning in Cork city centre. The panel - Alan Lavery, Olivia Keenaghan, Alan O'Herlihy and Marie Toft focussed on a current subject of debate in many organisations - ‘Transforming your business with GenAI’ Some key takeaways: ➡ In today’s business landscape, adopting GenAI is no longer an option but a necessity. Organisations that fail to integrate GenAI into their operations risk falling behind competitors. However, the question remains: How does one operationalise this transformative technology? 👨💻 👩💻 ➡ A critical element is finding the balance between managing expectations and effort level required. While the potential of GenAI is considerable, it requires planning and execution to realise its full benefits. Value assurance and quality assurance must be prioritised to ensure that the implementation of GenAI aligns with organisational objectives and delivers tangible results. ➡ All panellists agreed that the recent EU AI Act emerges as a guiding framework. Far from stifling progress and innovation, it provides essential guardrails to foster responsible AI development. By focussing on trust and human oversight, it ensures that AI technologies deliver in our best interests while mitigating potential risks. An excellent morning event sponsored by KPMG Ireland in the UCC Centre for Executive Education. 👏 🌟 The next Tech Industry Alliance Tech Talk event will be on June 13th when Starcircle will be hosting a panel discussion on AI and its application in Talent Identification & Diversity. Looking forward to seeing you there! 🚀 👩🚀 👨🚀

my former PP colleague Kate is speaking at this virtual event, would highly recommend for anyone running or managing an SME (or indeed, working in one!) Gen AI is here to stay and we can either ignore it, to our detriment, or understand it, to our advantage. Thanks so much Kate Minogue and the rest of the panel for giving up your time to share on this very impactful topic.

Generative AI is changing the way we work, creating exciting new opportunities for everyone in the workforce. As this transformation accelerates, it is important that everyone has the right AI skills and knowledge to thrive in the workplaces of tomorrow. The latest Labour Market Pulse unveiled today by IDA Ireland, Microsoft and LinkedIn reveals that Ireland’s workforce is well positioned to navigate these changes and develop the skills necessary to use AI in their role. Results show that Gen X has the most to gain from using generative AI tools to enhance productivity and undertake value-added work. However, as we accelerate the shift to a skills-based labour market, it is important that everyone has the right AI skills and capabilities to fully benefit from the technology in the workplace. That’s why we launched our national AI skilling programme to ensure everyone across Ireland has the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to fully participate in an AI-enabled economy.
