  • Happy teams feel VALUED. 🤝✨ Teams aren't built by sharing an office. They're built on trust, respect, and appreciation. Appreciation for the INDIVIDUALS who make up teams. Gartner found that 82% of employees want to be seen as individuals first, team members second. That's why you should add THESE metrics 📊 (to track employee engagement in your teams) 3 questions every leader should ask their team: 👇 1️⃣ "What does success look like to YOU?" P.S. Don't define it for them. Let each person share their vision. You might be surprised what appreciation looks like. (Think Platinum Rule, NOT Golden Rule btw). For some it's hitting numbers. For others it's bringing their whole self to work. 2️⃣ "What was your win this week?" Not the team's win. Their win. Make space for individual kudos! Even small victory counts. Celebrate em ✌️ 3️⃣ "What did you learn recently?" Show your team an active interest in their development. Your team isn't just a group of people who work together. They're individuals who choose to build something together. Give them the space to be both. And celebrate their wins. 📣 LOUDLY and often! 👀 P.S. What did we miss?

Goosebumps… 🥹 Let’s take a moment to appreciate our internal comms teams! (comments please 👇🏽) I just watched this incredible video my team self-produced. It made me smile (Kieran Weldon Helen Mulcahy 😆) but also left me deeply emotional. It’s a powerful reminder of the amazing, hard-working, and too often overlooked superstars behind internal comms. In today’s workplace, they’re not just "messengers"—they’re the architects of company culture and connectedness. In a sea of 'digital noise', internal comms help bring the authentic moments that truly connect us and make our work environment feel more human. 🎄In the spirit of the holidays, let’s tag and thank our internal comms teams in the comments. They truly deserve our appreciation! #CommsActually #WorkplaceCulture Workvivo by Zoom

  • Your employee experience starts BEFORE day one. Over 4 million Americans quit their jobs last year. 🧵 The data shows WHY - 56% walk away if job roles aren't clear - 50% leave if communication is poor - 36% quit if values don't align Your candidate experience isn't just about hiring btw. It's about your EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE. from the very first touchpoint. One of the most important ways to get it right? 👇 ACTIVELY LISTEN. Because... Every employee deserves a voice. And you'll learn A LOT by listening. That's what separates a "boss" vs "leader." You learn more by listening. Than you do by talking. 📌 Pstt, reminder: The cost of losing an employee? $18,591 on average. So make sure you listen well and show your people you care! -- 👋 P.S. What else would you add? What makes you feel appreciated / seen?

  • REMINDER: Celebrate 👏 your 👏 people! Peter Drucker said it best: "Culture eats strategy for breakfast" And a culture of recognition? It makes you unstoppable. Here's why👇 📌 The impact of recognition: - Being recognized boosts motivation instantly  - Appreciation creates loyalty and retention - Recognition culture drives happiness at work The SMALL moments create BIG impact at work. It's not the grand gestures once a year. It's how you treat people every day. ✅ 5 ways you can share kudos: 1️⃣ Make it timely (to what they did well) - Recognize achievements immediately - Don't wait for formal reviews It SHOWS you are paying attention! 2️⃣ Be specific AND personal  ❌ "Nice job on the presentation"  ✅ "Your slides were so clear and well-organized. You really helped get everyone aligned on the project direction." 3️⃣ Connect what they did to the BIGGER goals - Explain why their work matters in the big picture - Share how they helped others succeed 👆 This makes positive feedback contagious (In a really good way btw) 🧵 TLDR for you: Great recognition is - Immediate not delayed - Specific not general - Personal not generic And most importantly... It's AUTHENTIC! -- 👋 P.S. Tag someone who makes you feel THIS way! Show them some appreciation this Friday ✌️

  • Communication isn't WHAT you say. It's HOW you make others feel. 💬 Why your TONE matters so much at work We all wrapped up "performance reviews" by now. And you could have said all the 'right' things. But did you DELIVER the message well? Tips for your next one in Q1: 1️⃣ Make your examples specific (and human) Use clear examples: "Here's how we're performing" vs "Item 19 shows..." Don't be overly formal when doing this. Make it feel like a conversation. Not an interrogation. 2️⃣ KNOW your audience Create "One-pagers" for all your employees. Understand their style, formality, etc. Get consent and share these around. A team that knows each other? They communicate way better. 3️⃣ Read your message OUT LOUD before hitting send This is one of the simplest tips. Our brains catch tone better when hearing something. When you just read what you wrote? It's MUCH harder to tell. So say it before you send it ✌️ 📌 Because the research is CLEAR: "An overly aggressive or sarcastic tone destroys communication, while a softer and kinder tone fosters collaboration." -- 💡 Pro tip: Before any important conversation, take a moment to check your emotional state. Your tone will reflect it. -- 👋 What else would you add? Let us know!

  • Culture is NOT words on walls. It's in your everyday actions ✍️ Why it matters so much 👇 The reality of company culture: → 4.5M workers quit monthly in 2022 → Nearly half consider leaving their jobs → Most quit because of culture misalignment So. What should you do? ✅ Build culture through ACTIONS 1️⃣ Show what matters through decisions Think: - The behaviors your reward - How you celebrate your employees (Daily and weekly. Not quarterly btw) 2️⃣ Leaders should LIVE your values Ex: when you face a tough quarter? Lead with empathy and kindness. How you act in times of growth is everything. 3️⃣ Create space for real connection Explain the WHY behind your decisions: Ex: When there's a difficult cross-roads? Make your team feel part of that conversation. Even if it's explaining your rationale. 🧵 REMEMBER: People don't quit companies. They quit cultures. And culture is NOT what you say. It's what you do. Every single day. -- 💡 Pro tip: Use your EXP to showcase real stories of values in action. When employees see authentic culture celebrated, they feel part of something meaningful. -- 👋 P.S.
