🎄It’s that time of year again - Westermo Christmas Jumper Day.   Our teams around the world come together to celebrate this tradition and support causes that matter to our communities. Below are some of the local initiatives our employees contribute to, creating a meaningful impact where it’s needed most. ⤵️   💙 In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland we donated to Kinderkrebshilfe Mainz e.V. in support of children and young people with cancer and their families. 💙 In Ireland we raised funds for Children’s Hospital Ireland to help children receive the care and support they need. 💙 In Sweden we raised funds for Musikhjälpen in their mission to ensure everyone survives pregnancy. 💙 Westermo also supports Engineers Without Borders Sweden, an organization that leverages engineering expertise to build a sustainable future.   It is our hope that these efforts will spread joy, hope, and support to those who need it the most during this holiday season. ✨   #Westermo #ChristmasJumperDay #GlobalTeam

  • In a recent interview, Gösta Kallner, Executive Chairman of the 450 MHz Alliance, shared his thoughts on private networks using the 450 MHz spectrum. ⤵️

👋 We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Gösta Kallner, Executive Chairman of the 450 MHz Alliance and chat to him about his thoughts about private networks, specifically on the 450 MHz spectrum. Read his views on the 450 spectrum and its applications ⤵️ 🔹𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟰𝟱𝟬 𝗠𝗛𝘇 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆? From the perspective of the 450 Alliance, 450 MHz is the lowest standardised spectrum for mobile systems and is focused on industrial solutions. The spectrum is used for private networks, which are disconnected from public networks, enhancing security. 🔹𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟰𝟱𝟬 𝗠𝗛𝘇, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝘁? A primary advantage of using the 450 MHz frequency is the extensive coverage area per transmitter. Users typically need a secure network with good coverage, whether it's for many low-bandwidth users or a few broadband users. We see the 450 MHz spectrum as well suited to utility, public safety, transportation, and agriculture. 🔹𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟰𝟱𝟬 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼? The 450 Alliance is a non-profit organization that operates on a global scale, concentrating on the frequency spectrum range of 380 to 512 MHz. Our work encompasses spectrum discussions and consultations with users and regulators globally, supporting use cases, and driving the end-to-end ecosystem. 🤝 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟰𝟱𝟬 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 To learn more about 450 MHz as well as the products and solutions we provide, check out 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dZG3D4mp #450alliance #450mhz #450frequency #westermo #connectivity #privatenetworks

    • The lower frewuency of 450 Mhz allows for extensive coverage, with fewer base stations, making it cost-effective for achieving wide coverage. Gösta Kallner, Executive Chairman, 450 Alliance.

  • 📶 Energie AG OÖ Embraces LTE 450 MHz for Future-Proof Connectivity ⛰️ The Austrian utility provider faced the challenge of CDMA 450 technology becoming obsolete. The solution? LTE 450 MHz – a future-proof technology offering reliable and secure connectivity over large remote areas. Walter Pesendorfer, Head of the Radio Services Team at Energie AG, explains, "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘹𝘦𝘥 – 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴, 𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩 𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴. The migration process is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The project rollout began in early 2024 and 25% of base stations had already been installed by October 2024. The upgrade will ensure Energie AG's network is future-proof and ready to handle modern energy management demands. Curious to know more?
