📸 Behind-the-scenes: How Dogpatch Labs turned into an epic #esports event venue 👀 When we set out to host the Ireland Esports Collegiate Series Finals in 2023, it wasn’t just about finding a venue—it was about creating a platform for #Irish esports talent to perform as players, creators and producers. Our third iteration was held two weeks ago today. The Series evolved dramatically since our very first event back in December last year, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to setting the bar higher every time. Dogpatch Labs has been integral to that journey. Here’s how we turned their events and meeting room venue into an enviable esports venue: 🏗️ Built on Experience: third time around we knew what it took to deliver excellence. Dogpatch Labs gave us the flexibility and tech-first infrastructure to level up once again for this latest iteration. 🤝 Powerful Partnerships: From day one, Dogpatch Labs and GGmachines.ie have been foundational to our success, helping us create seamless player setups, production workflows and audience experiences. This time, Logitech G joined as a partner, adding cutting-edge peripherals that elevated gameplay to the next level and enhanced our live simulcast across YouTube and Twitch. Without doubt the continued presence and impact of KOKA Noodles (Boyne Valley Group) and Ri-Ra Brewing Company's activations created much deeper engagement and added value. 📍 A Location Like No Other: Situated in the heart of #Dublin, Dogpatch Labs offered unparalleled access for players, creators, partners and staff. Its centrality and innovative environment made it the perfect venue to host Ireland’s top collegiate talent from across the island. 🎥 Tech-Focused Innovation: With Dogpatch Labs’s advanced connectivity and support, combined with GGmachines.ie’ expertise and Logitech G's cutting edge peripherals we delivered a first-class setup. From custom-built #gaming rigs to live #broadcasting, the right tools were in place to deliver an first-class environment for the best talent on the island to perform. 🏟️ Immersive Experience: The industrial charm of Dogpatch Labs events venue became the ideal backdrop for an esports event. Creative staging, optimised audience areas and independent player rooms transformed the venue into an experience. ♼ Continual Evolution: With each Finals, we’ve built on our learnings. December 2023 was the foundation. The most recent Finals showed the impact of bold partnerships and relentless refinement. This #national series isn’t just about competition; it’s about giving Ireland's esports talent an opportunity to shine and in some cases, start their pathway-to-pro with the next step into Dublin's Nativz Esports Club. #StormDarragh could stop us delivering day 2 of the Ireland Esports Collegiate Series Winter Finals event… Got to admire the passion that our student reps and players have to play. We had many stories shared from the journey’s into Dogpatch Labs yesterday, moving branches off the roads to bus and train cancellations. Our thanks goes out to the team from Queen's University Belfast who navigated a 5.5hour train journey down to #Dublin for their #LeagueofLegends final against Technological University Dublin. Their perseverance to make their way down despite the obstacles was amazing. We’re now back for the third and final day with Trinity College Dublin facing off with Technological University Dublin in a #Valorant best of three from 12noon before Queen's University Belfast return to take on Trinity College Dublin in #CounterStrike2 at 3pm to wrap up the finals weekend. 👀 October was a month of delivery. We went live with 24/25 Ireland Esports Collegiate Series for our third time, Play Aid joined as our Purpose Partner for mental health and our Nativz Esports Club reset began (see challenges). 🗞️ 𝕀𝕟 𝔽𝕠𝕔𝕦𝕤 On 2 November Riot Games held their #LeagueofLegends 2024 World Championship Grand Final in #London’s O2 arena. With an expected economic impact of £12m locally, the event was broadcast from Riot's Remote Broadcast Centre in #Dublin with a record breaking viewership of 6.9m. Notorious for it’s cross-over with music, #LinkinPark headlined with ‘Heavy is the Crown’ as the official anthem of the event https://lnkd.in/e5Sb26ib. #Ashnikko also performed ‘Paint The Town Blue’ from the 2nd and final season of Riot Games’ related television series #Arcane, released on Netflix (6 Nov), 2 days after Worlds. Undefeated after first round loss, 18th of 400 teams! 🚨ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕘𝕖 Since starting our journey in May 2021, we peaked as the 2023 NLC Summer champs and challenged the best of Europe in the EMEA Masters. We've also rebuilt Irish collegiate esports over the past two academic years and have an amazing talent pool. Now our #LeagueofLegends 1st Team has finished this NLC season it’s time for a change.
