This large project funded by the Irish Government's Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund, aims to advance space technology development through collaboration, expertise and research, positioning Ireland as a recognised hub of space excellence. We are currently seeking three highly motivated postdoctoral researchers with expertise in one or more of the following areas: 1) Thermal analysis and design 2) Structural analysis and design 3) Control systems design and implementation. This was more than just a little bit special - we won the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Ireland Established Entrepreneur of the Year award 🏆- it’s still sinking in! The EoY is the Oscars for Entrepreneurship. The whole EoY experience has been a wonderful ‘moment in time’ for myself, Ruth, and David to reflect on the journey and to take great pride in the team we have assembled and the great company we are building, headquartered in the beautiful West of Ireland! And we are only just getting started! I am doubly proud of this recognition, as this is the first time a space technology company has won this award. MBRYONICS is spearheading a rapidly scaling Space Cluster on the island of Ireland and we are so very proud to be bringing a spotlight on our amazing sector, where the spirit of entrepreneurship is thriving! Another major achievement in 2025 was co-founding the Irish Space Association to represent this dynamic Irish space cluster. I expect to see many other Irish space technology companies joining the EoY alumni over the next years! The support from Enterprise Ireland and Ireland’s membership of the European Space Agency - ESA has been critical to enabling this new sector to emerge in Ireland. I trust our sector’s continued successes will encourage the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment to continue increasing its investment into the space sector and to support a thriving and future-proof indigenous economy. On a personal note, it was wonderful to be able to share the night with my amazing parents, Ann and Desmond, and wife, Kate. They have been a rock of support throughout the good and bad days. There wouldn’t be an MBRYONICS without them! Our phenomenal team - our Mbryonics Mission Crew - are pioneering the future of global connectivity - designed and built in the West of Ireland. Happy Birthday EIRSAT-1! 🎉🛰️ One year in orbit and what a year it has been. Ireland's first satellite, built by a student-led team from University College Dublin in partnership with European Space Agency - ESA, was launched into space in December 2023. This historic moment took the nation forward to greater participation in the global space industry. Today, we proudly hosted the final of the STEMblem TY Challenge with Mint-Tek - We are the prototype people! 🏆 Big congratulations to our winners: Trident Trio from St. Brigid’s College, Loughrea! They impressed us all with their innovative design for a new St. Patrick’s Day emblem featuring an electronic twist. Their prize? Mint-Tek will bring their prototype to life, with a manufacturing budget of up to €2500, with the team earning all profits! 👏 Shoutout to our runners-up: Teidí Bears from Coláiste Éinde!
