The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI)’s Energy in Ireland 2024 Report highlights critical milestones and challenges in Ireland's energy journey. Solar energy is emerging as a key player, with a 335% increase in generation last year. Yet, fossil fuels still dominate 82.7% of our energy mix, and grid constraints threaten further renewable growth. 💡 The solution? A stronger grid, accelerated solar adoption, and collective action from all sectors. 📊 According to preliminary estimates from Green Collective, solar generation may have overtaken coal for the first time in Ireland in 2024, with solar farms contributing around 65% and rooftop solar/microgeneration providing the remainder. What do you think this milestone means for the future of renewables? Read our latest blog for insights and how solar can tip the balance toward sustainability: https://lnkd.in/ejGK7Q4C And SEAI's full report: https://lnkd.in/esiuA-7k Together, we can power a cleaner, greener Ireland. #SolarEnergy #Renewables #IrelandEnergyTransition #ISEA #SolarRevolution

We were delighted and proud to support last night's Women in Solar Energy (Ireland) - WISE(IR) seminar and networking evening, kindly hosted by Mason Hayes & Curran LLP! ☀️ Moderated by MHC's Christine O'Donovan, the dynamic seminar on "Financing the Future of Solar: Unlocking Opportunities for Solar Investment and Project Development" saw the esteemed panel of speakers Grace Curran, Morgan Pierce, and Tara Reale discuss the opportunities and challenges our industry faces in relation to financing, from development costs to CPPAs and beyond. The panellists identified a number of positive outcomes from this year and looked ahead to 2025, citing the Enduring Connection Policy framework, SRESS, and commercial rooftop installation grants as exciting opportunities for the industry in the upcoming year. The evening ended with some networking, as attendees made new connections, exchanged ideas, and set new collaborations in motion for 2025. A massive thank you to the panellists, attendees, Dawn Keegan and Women in Solar Energy (Ireland) - WISE(IR), and Mason Hayes & Curran LLP for making this event such a success - we at ISEA are excited to keep supporting this growing network in the new year! 🌱 #WISEIreland #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #WomenInLeadership #Networking #SolarFinance
