More people now work in the aviation industry in Ireland than ever before, highlighting how globally competitive and capable the Industry in Ireland has become. Today we report strong annual results for 2024 showing continued levels of investment and employment across the #FDI sector. A record level of R&D investment valued at €1.9bn across 64 projects was approved by IDA Ireland during the year. ▪️ Ireland secured 234 investments which will lead to the creation of 13,500 jobs over the next few years. ▪️ Strong balanced regional development throughout 2024 with 59% of FDI investments in locations outside of Dublin. ▪️ Ireland’s transformative FDI base demonstrates continued resilience, stability and maturity employing 302,566 people c. 11% of national employment. ▪️ 69 #green field or first-time investments, highlighting Ireland’s continued attractiveness for new enterprises and activities. IDA Ireland, in partnership with Microsoft and LinkedIn, has released the latest #LabourMarketPulse report, revealing that Ireland's demand for green skills is growing at twice the global average. ▪️ Data shows that global demand for green talent grew twice as quickly as supply between 2023 and 2024 with demand increasing by 11.6% and supply by 5.6%. ▪️ 22.1% spike in Irish job postings requiring #green skills in past year compared to global increase of 11.6%. ▪️ Technology, Information and Media, Retail and Financial Services are the sectors with the greatest green talent demand.
