Supporting Adults with Autism
About us
Gheel Autism Services was founded in 1971 by parents of people with autism in the greater Dublin and North Kildare region. Here at Gheel, we provide day, residential and outreach services for adults with autism with the goal of maximising independence and enhancing quality of life for all of our service users. All of our programmes are tailored to recognise the unique individuality of persons with ASD. Our low arousal approach is the cornerstone of our philosophy here at Gheel which ensures that we respect each individual's autism and allows them to be who they are. Our mission is to help those with ASD become respected and valued members of the community in which they live.

World Menopause Day is held every year on 18 October during World Menopause Month, to raise awareness of the menopause and highlight the support options available for those experiencing it. The theme for World Menopause Day 2024, set by the International Menopause Society (IMS) is Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT). If you are looking for more in-depth advice and don’t know where to go, please review the IMS website at www.imsociety.org The IMS lead the way in sharing the challenges facing people during the menopause transition and highlighting improvements in research, education and support. Their resources are freely available for all who are interested in menopause, including family, friends, colleagues, employers and healthcare professionals, enabling more people to be well informed and better able to support those experiencing menopause. #WorldMenopauseDay #WorldMenopauseMonth #Gheelautismservicesclg #Inclusiveworkplace

World Mental Health Day is coming up on 10th October 2024. This year, the theme is ‘It is Time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace’ highlighting the essential role mental health plays in building supportive, thriving and productive work environments. By working together and investing efforts/resources in evidence-based approaches and interventions, we can ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive at work and in life. Encourage open conversations about mental health, support one another and foster an environment where seeking help is seen as a sign of strength, not weakness. Together, we can make a difference in our own lives and those of our colleagues. On this World Mental Health Day, let's commit to learning, growing and prioritising our mental health for a brighter, healthier future! #worldmentalhealthday #worldmentalhealthday2024 #Gheelautismservicesclg #psychologicalsafety #mentalhealthmatters #workplacewellbeing #employeeengagement

Happy Black History Month! This year's theme "Reclaiming Our Narrative" is a call to action, encouraging us all to honour, educate, and empower ourselves and others by taking back control of the stories that define Black history. As we celebrate this month, let's amplify voices that have long been unheard, reflect on the contributions that have shaped our societies, and continue to challenge the narratives that limit progress. Here's to celebrating Black excellence, past and present, and paving the way for an inclusive future. #blackhistorymonth #Gheelautismservicesclg #reclaimingournarrative #inclusiveworkplace #diversityandinclusion
