PESO. No, not the Mexican currency (other latin american nations are available), the different types of media used by a half-decent media relations campaign. You know - paid, earned, social and owned. Because you'll always need to big up your earned (editorial) coverage, and sometimes you'll want to tell people stuff that's less news story and more important product benefits. We've been helping Spry Finance develop advertorials for the Irish Times - genuine stories from real customers who've used Spry's products to improve their quality of life. Good to look at, in keeping with the publication's style - engaging and appropriate. #laterlifefinance #lifetimemortgage

A regular part of our work with Echelon Data Centres is capturing 'Talking Heads' video content, in which one of the many talented and experienced Echelon people talk about their role and their journey - and why data centre infrastructure is at the heart of economic and societal growth. This video, featuring Carl Thorne, is a great example of why we do it and why it's so successful. #datacentres #greendata #sustainabledatacentres

Echelon Data Centres' Head of Design, Michael Martin, was at Datacentres Ireland last week talking about the future of data centre design and, in particular, designing to meet the needs of tomorrow. The continuing adoption of AI globally is going to require increasing capacity, higher-performance computing and greater rack density - and, clearly, the power to run it. We're pleased to be working with Echelon as they develop their state-of-the-art DUB20 campus, the first in Ireland to be located within shouting distance of around 1GW of offshore wind energy, with the capability to bring it onshore and into the grid.
Head of Design Michael Martin represented Echelon at the Data Centres Ireland Exhibition and Conference in Dublin last week. He participated in an engaging panel discussion on 'Data Centre Design – Future Considerations’ – alongside Brian Doherty, CEO, Atlantic Hub (a Greenscape company), and John Kermath, International Pre-construction Director, TSL Projects. Michael emphasised how data centre design must be informed by anticipating the needs of the future - the needs of the client, the needs of the rapidly changing tech landscape, energy needs, connectivity needs, and the needs of the communities in which data centres operate. He stated, “The needs of the future must be considered at the outset, because retrofitting isn’t an option, and 'blank sheet' sites - like Echelon’s - present an opportunity to provide now what our stakeholders will need tomorrow.” Many thanks to Data Centres Ireland for hosting two days of insightful discussions and collaboration. We look forward to engaging in more industry-shaping conversations in the future. #EchelonDataCentres #DataCentresIreland #DataCentreInnovation #FutureOfDataCentres #AI

Is your business or brand hitting the right note with its CSR activity? Companies engage in CSR activity to enhance their reputation, build customer trust, and foster goodwill. Communicating CSR activity can be tricky – and the most important thing to remember is it's not about you, it's about the group or cause that you're supporting. We recently produced a series of videos about The Guinness Choir for later life lender Spry Finance. The choir has more than 100 members, many of whom have been singing there for 30 or 40 years. The videos provide an opportunity for some of them to talk about their love of the choir – be it the music, the singing, the camaraderie, or the thrill they get from performing at gala events in venues such as St Patrick's Cathedral, the RDS, and even Croke Park. The choir's members are all amateurs and, for many of them, singing with the choir has been a defining part of their life. It was wonderful to discover their passion and dedication for a community organisation that is more than 70 years old. It was also educational to learn that "Handel was the Glastonbury of his day"! CSR activity can contribute to long-term business success – especially when it aligns strongly with your brand and corporate values – but your communication should be authentic and your content must be engaging. www.4tc.ie www.guinnesschoir.org https://lnkd.in/ekn2WsC3 #CSR #Communication #Content

The over 60s are one of Ireland's fastest growing age groups, but they're not well served by traditional lenders. It's very positive to see Spry Finance offering increased choice to older people through new financial products such as these. It's the latest chapter in Spry's remarkable story of innovation and growth, and 4TC is proud to be with them on their journey. #PR #Communication #Storytelling
Pleased to announce the launch of two new Lifetime Loan products into the Irish market – both of which have been created in direct response to demand from our customers. The Second Home and Buy-to-Let Lifetime Loans differ from our standard Lifetime Mortgage in that they are not secured on a customer’s primary residence. Data shows that there were >66,000 holiday homes in Ireland in 2022, and that some 57,000 tenanted properties are owned by landlords aged over 65. Our later life lending products enable homeowners aged over 60 to release equity in their property without relinquishing ownership or selling up and our new loans extend this concept to other property assets. On balance, we'd suggest that banning social media for under-16s is the right thing to do. But, as this BBC story shows, there's a considerable number of factors to be taken into consideration - not least of which is how do you make it happen, how do you oversee it and the question of whether 16 is a bit arbitrary. Clearly had social media been regulated from the very start, we wouldn't have to be thinking about how we're going to impose regulation on young people today. (The same - broadly speaking - goes for AI.) Reducing usage of social media/influencers as marketing tools to reach the youth demographic (as a whole) isn't going to solve the wider problem, but if it makes social media less compelling for younger users, that's got to be a good thing.

In Ireland, dairy farming sustains 17,500 family farms, supports 55,000 jobs and exports nutritious dairy products to 130+ countries, returning €6.3bn to the economy each year. The country's dairy farmers are making huge strides on the road to mitigating their environmental impact (emissions, water quality, biodiversity) however limited understanding and awareness of their commitment to sustainability is one of the factors that could lead to a curtailment of the industry as a whole. We're pleased to be working with the National Dairy Council to create greater and more widespread dialogue around the issues. Employee ownership allows working people to share in the success of the businesses they work for through incentives such as stock options and ownership trusts. One of our clients is the IPSA - Irish ProShare Association, which advocates for increased employee ownership in Ireland. It has always been very rewarding working with IPSA, not least at their recent Employee Share Ownership Day 2024 conference, where experts and leaders from the share plan community in Ireland and beyond gathered at PwC Ireland in Dublin to share ideas and provide insight into current and future trends across the sector. As a General Election looms large in Ireland’s near future, now is the ideal time for all political parties consider the benefits of increased employee ownership and how policy can promote it as a positive economic model for supporting and growing Irish business.
