Update

  • The eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki has cast a shadow over Wulanggitang, disrupting lives, burying roads, and devastating homes and farmlands. In these challenging times, farmer communities in East Flores and Sikka face immense struggles, with their vegetable farms buried under volcanic ash. With the support of PT East-West Seed Indonesia, Yayasan Bina Tani Sejahtera (YBTS) has reached out to stand alongside 26 resilient young farmers who are part of YBTS’ youth project, along with their families. By sharing essential supplies—including food, sleep mattresses, and "Cap Panah Merah" vegetable seeds—we hope to offer a small measure of relief and encouragement as they begin the journey to rebuild their lives and livelihoods. This is the least we can do for our best friends during such a difficult time. We hope this support provides not only immediate relief but also a pathway to rebuild their farms and reclaim the futures they have worked tirelessly to create. We want nothing more than to see them back on their feet and thriving once again. #LifeAtEwindo #FarmersBestFriend #CapPanahMerah #YBTS #YBTS2024 #SmallholderFarmers

  • “This demonstrates our strong commitment to supporting local farmers by offering not only high-quality seeds but also comprehensive technical guidance on optimizing crop yields”, said Glenn Pardede, Managing Director of PT East-West Seed Indonesia (EWINDO) during the opening of “Festival Panen Makmur” (or “Prosperous Harvest Festival”) at Tulungrejo Village, Pujon Kidul, Malang earlier this month. As the producer of “Cap Panah Merah” horticulture seeds, “Festival Panen Makmur” is EWINDO’s collaborative event that brings farmers together to share agricultural insights and techniques. The event kicked off with an appreciation night honoring our “champion farmers”, and the following days, hundreds of farmers from the Malang region gathered as EWINDO unveiled the secrets to successful vegetable and fruit harvesting during several “Gelar Teknologi” (“Technology Showcase”) sessions. They highlighted the effective use of various “Cap Panah Merah” seeds, including TANGGUH F1 curly chili, TRESNA XL green bean, MERDEKA F1 true shallot seed, BLAZE F1 green onion, and PM 48 F1 green cabbage, all of which are designed to enable faster harvests with higher, more profitable yields. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the EWINDO family embody one of our visions: delivering exceptional service to uplift farmers' prosperity. #LifeAtEwindo #FarmersBestFriend #StriveForExcellence #CapPanahMerah #PanenMakmur #CaraBisaPanenMakmur

  • Today, we celebrate our co-founder and the former World Food Prize winner Simon Groot's 90th birthday, the visionary who laid the foundation of PT East-West Seed Indonesia (EWINDO) back in 1990. Simon’s passion has been the reason all of us at EWINDO and our knowledge transfer partner at Yayasan Bina Tani Sejahtera, from our home base in Purwakarta to across Indonesia, believe in our vision of empowering millions of farmers through high-quality vegetable seeds and exceptional services. His pioneering spirit as the founder of East-West Seed Group that “it takes all kinds of people to make a world,” highlights the power of collaboration, enabling us to support farmers in building sustainable, food-secure communities. As we honor Simon's remarkable journey, we look forward to a future filled with innovation, growth, and unity. Thank you, Simon, for guiding us and inspiring generations to thrive. #SimonGroot #LifeAtEwindo #FarmersBestFriend #HappyAndGratefulEmployee #StriveForExcellence #CapPanahMerah

  • With our commitment to being the “Farmer’s Best Friend” by providing high-quality vegetable seeds for Indonesian agriculture, PT East-West Seed Indonesia has established a seed delivery partnership with PT. Tiki Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE), a logistics company that strives to "Connecting Happiness" throughout Indonesia. On 7 August 2024, our Finance & ICT Director and Interim Seed Operations Director, Isak Heryawan, and JNE President Director, Mohamad Feriadi Soeprapto, signed the collaboration MOU at EWINDO headquarters in Purwakarta, West Java. Interestingly, both JNE and EWINDO have been serving Indonesia for almost 34 years, and we are now collaborating to provide best services for our customers. All in all, it is heartening to witness this one-of-a kind collaboration for the betterment of the nation’s agricultural sector. #lifeatewindo #farmersbestfriend #striveforexcellence #cappanahmerah #connectinghappiness #jne

  • Earlier this week, PT East-West Seed Indonesia (EWINDO) family united for our 34th-anniversary town hall, both at the Purwakarta headquarters and online. It was an inspiring event, as our Board of Directors shared their motivational insights. But this was more than just an update—it was an energizing experience! We embraced a hiking theme, symbolizing our collective journey towards reaching this year's ‘summit’. As we enter the second semester of 2024, Managing Director Glenn Pardede, our designated hiking leader, took a moment to celebrate our collective achievements. He expressed deep appreciation for everyone's hard work and collaboration, highlighting how far we have come together. Glenn also reminded us of the importance of passion and perseverance –known as GRIT here at EWINDO– as we continue our hike toward our year-end goals. Fatkhu Rokhman, our Research & Development Director, emphasized how his team ‘cooks up’ the vital ingredients for our success in high-quality seeds. Isak Heryawan, Finance & Accounting and Interim SO Director, ensures we have sufficient ‘logistics’ to reach the summit. Ganesh Pamugar Satyagraha, our Commercial Director, ‘navigates’ us through the ever-challenging market landscape. With Glenn proudly raising the summit flag of our “SAFE Strategy”, it was a moment of inspiration for all of us to conquer new heights with unwavering determination. Onwards and upwards! #lifeatewindo #farmersbestfriend #happyandgratefulemployee #striveforexcellence #cappanahmerah #townhall #passionandperseverance

  • PT East-West Seed Indonesia was humbly honored to represent the nation’s private sector among other panelists from governments and universities in the panel discussion at the Launch of the Sustainable Connectivity Package – Higher Education (SCOPE-HE) Programme, held at The ASEAN Secretariat last week. As a producer of vegetable seeds for 35 years, we believe it’s super important for the private sector to participate in fostering education, both at vocational and higher levels, in order to establish a robust talent stream to support Indonesia’s food industry. The message was emphasized by the Managing Director of East-West Seed Indonesia, Glenn Pardede, at the launch of the program aimed at promoting exchange and connectivity in higher education, research, as well as technical and vocational training between ASEAN and the European Union. A solid partnership between governments, educational institutions, and the private sector is the key to success. Glenn also emphasized the collaboration with educational institutions –from vocational schools to top-notch universities– not only enhances the necessary technical skills, but also helps nurture future leaders with much-needed soft skills to better prepare for upcoming challenges. #lifeatewindo #striveforexcellence #cappanahmerah #ASEAN #EU
