Quick engineering salary comparison based on the #DEVBG stats from 2023 and 2024 in the Bulgarian IT industry. Dev.bg publish yearly a summary of the Bulgarian IT engineering salaries based on the job openings offers on their platform. https://lnkd.in/dNU5MD8D (2023 stats) https://lnkd.in/dX_dxvP7 (2024 stats) Based on the population data (let's assume it's a proper representation of the real world) we can determine the following: 1. PHP should be dead but it isn't (unfortunately) as it's one of the two categories with growing salaries in all job positions and ranges. 2. The second is the full stack development with a minimum drop of 65 levas in the first MID range(2-5 years) 3. All ranges except the Senior level(5+ years of experience) have a drop in salary compared to 2023 but for some seem negligible compared to the notion in the industry that "it's going down and AI will take over the world" :) 4. We can see that seniority still counts and there is now a shift towards growth of salaries of more senior people compared to others as the market tries to regulate. 5. There is still a lot of green for a "dying" and "shrinking" industry. Wrapping up the series of posts about my autumn speeches, I’d like to share one of my favorite topics: Product Discovery for Physical Products: Is It as Important as for Digital? I had the honor of presenting this topic on the main stage at Regional Scrum Gathering Belgrade 2024. In my talk, I explored techniques used in product discovery and addressed a common question: Are these approaches truly applicable to traditional, non-IT, physical products? To illustrate this, I shared a case study from a personal project I’m working on with my colleague Ivan Pavlović. It’s a sort of a cookbook — a very traditional and very physical product. Despite its nature, using modern product discovery techniques helped us minimize the risks of making wrong decisions and focusing on wrong things. After flirting with various aspects of marketing for the past 5 years, I finally got the chance to center my professional efforts on one of my favorite things: writing. I started my new position as a copywriter for MiniCRM România one and a half months ago and I’m honestly surprised by a lot of things. The interviews in my recruitment process were a delight. I could see a strong compatibility before I had any confirmation that I got the job. I was always happy to see Csilla-Melinda M. pop up on my phone or in my inbox. The onboarding process was very nice, since I got to meet a lot of my coworkers online, which I think is very important for a full remote position. The marketing department, that I am proudly a part of, is made up of true professionals and just overall nice people on a human level. I haven’t been met with so much positivity and support in any professional environment so far. Shoutout to Bernadett Bak for being simply amazing. It just goes to show that anyone can thrive in the right conditions. I’m still new and learning but so far I really like it here. Anyway, long story short, I published my first article on the MiniCRM blog yesterday, on a topic that’s very important to me, and just wanted to share the good stuff. And if anyone reading this needs a kickass CRM to boost their company’s productivity, hit me up and I’ll tell you why that’s a great idea.
