🚨 OKX HK Withdraws VASP License Application! 🚨 📢 OKX HK has decided to withdraw its license application impacting centralized virtual asset trading services. 🔍 Key Points to Note: - Starting May 31, 2024, OKX will cease centralized virtual asset trading services for Hong Kong users, in compliance with regulatory requirements. - Users can still withdraw their funds safely until August 31, 2024. After this date the remaining assets will be handled according to OKX Terms of Service. - OKX Web3 (self-hosted wallet) services remain unaffected and will continue for Hong Kong users. 🚨SFC updated 11 virtual asset trading platforms as Deemed-to-be-licensed today 🚨 ✅The list includes HKbitEX, PantherTrade, Accumulus, DFX Labs, Bixin Group, xWhale, Yax, Bullish, Crypto.com, WhaleFin, Matrixport. 📋The 11 companies have the following conditions as stated by SFC: - Not onboarding any new clients until it's implemented HSM, private keys, cold wallets and robust internal controls - Shall not actively market its VA services, whether in Hong Kong or outside - Required to be in compliance with the SFC VATP guideline - Shall obtain SFC's prior written approval before any new services - Maintains it's required liquid capital or minimum paid up capital Note: I've summarised and selected a few keys conditions as this is not the full list #SFC #VATP #deemed #licensed #list #conditions

🎥Teaser #1: Animated chart depicting the Hong Kong Web3 jobs growth by different segments, captured in 10 seconds! 📈HK Web3 companies engaged in (i) stablecoin issuance (ii) virtual asset ETF (iii) Virtual Asset Trading Platform experienced the largest year on year growth. This was driven by regulatory changes for these segments over the past 18 months. 📉HK Web3 companies engaged in NFT, Metaverse and L1/L2s experienced a workforce shrinkage. Both NFT and Metaverse were a boom during the last crypto cycle but fell out of favour since. One of the Layer 1 companies in HK moved its HQ to overseas which also caused a drop in personnel for the segment. 📄I will share a series of teasers extracted from the detailed “Web3 Regulatory Evolution: The Rise of the Hong Kong Web3 Job Market” report. HKMA announces Stablecoins Issure first batch Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has announced the first participants of stablecoins issure Sandbox: ✅ JINGDONG Coinlink Technology Hong Kong Limited. ✅ RD InnoTech Limited. ✅ Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, Animoca Brands Limited, Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT) Limited. During the assessment process, these institutions were able to demonstrate genuine interest in developing a Stablecoins issuance business in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 with reasonable business plan, and their proposed operations under the Sandbox agreement would conducted within a limited scope and in a risk-controlable manner. #fintech #stablecoins #hongkong Source: HKMA.
