We are honoured to have received the #SwissBusinessExcellenceAward2024 from The Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong Limited the Healthcare, Industrial & Services category, two years in a row! This recognition is a testament to our commitment to improving patient outcomes and advancing healthcare in Hong Kong. Through our continuous efforts, we have introduced groundbreaking healthcare solutions through our three innovative technology platforms (xRNA, radioligand, and cell & gene therapy). Notably, we launched the first two 'Advanced Therapy Products' in Hong Kong. A special thank you to H.E. Juerg Burri, Ambassador of Switzerland to People's Republic of China; Daniel Freihofer, Consul General of Switzerland in Hong Kong; and Benjamin Sigg and Benno Jaeggi, Co-Presidents of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong – for presenting us this award at the Swiss Business Excellence Night. Last week, we brought together our China International Leadership Team for an inspiring town hall meeting that went beyond speeches. It was a powerful exchange of ideas, underscoring the #powerofcollaboration. Hong Kong’s dynamic market and unique relationship with the Greater Bay Area create a fertile ground for collaboration on clinical trials and innovative therapies. That’s why gatherings like this are pivotal – they allow us to share ideas, exchange best practices, and unite our efforts to tackle healthcare challenges head-on – highlighting the importance of teamwork in driving growth and delivering transformative treatments. We look forward to even more of these collaborative dialogues, as we continue to uphold our vision: to go “Above and Beyond, Together, For Patients.” #NovartisHK

#NovartisHK is proud to be a Sapphire Sponsor of Pink Walk 2024! Yesterday, over 30 of our colleagues and their families stood shoulder-to-shoulder at The Peak, showcasing our commitment to raising #BreastCancer awareness. Breast cancer is the most common cancer amongst women in Hong Kong, representing approximately 1/3 of all new cancers diagnosed in women. While the incidence rate has been on the rise for the past 39 years, the death rate has remained stable – potentially due to increased awareness, screening, and improved treatments. Together, we walk in solidarity, supporting those affected by breast cancer and promoting the importance of early detection and research. As we stride towards a brighter future, we continue to #ReimagineMedicine. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation #PinkWalk2024

In Hong Kong, leukaemia is one of the top ten deadliest cancers that can occur in both adults and children – but, with early intervention, it does not have to be. On World CML Day that coincides with #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth, #NovartisHK is focusing its efforts on raising awareness and supporting the fight against Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (#CML), a rare type of cancer that affects the bone marrow and white blood cells. At Novartis, we are proud to be at the forefront of transforming CML from a fatal diagnosis to a manageable condition. But our work is far from over. The CML Advocates Network's #WCMLD24 campaign – “Building Bridges: Leaving No CML Patient Behind” – underscores the necessity for equitable access to early diagnosis, treatment, and support to meet the unique needs of patients living with CML. Join us in spreading the word to bring hope to those who need it, so no patient is left behind.

#Didyouknow that around 1 out of 10 patients are harmed in #healthcare due to unsafe care, but more than half is preventable? This year’s World Patient Safety Day theme – "Get it right, make it safe!" – reminds us of the importance of building a healthcare ecosystem that prioritises #patientsafety through safety protocols and training for healthcare professionals. On this important day, #NovartisHK hosted an internal activity where employees gathered for a refresher and a fun quiz on adverse event reporting. At Novartis, patient safety is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring patient safety through the collection and monitoring of adverse events, as well as continuous and proactive safety risk management of our products, so that more patients can benefit. Let's make patient safety a shared responsibility today and every day. #ReimagineMedicine #WorldPatientSafetyDay

Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (#PNH) is a rare blood disorder that causes the immune system to destroy red blood cells prematurely. This leads to anemia, even with infusion therapy, and frequent travel to medical facilities for treatment can be exhausting. PNH is an extremely #raredisease, affecting only about 50-60 people in Hong Kong. Patients face unique challenges, including a decreased quality of life and lost productivity due to lifelong infusions and ongoing transfusions. To give hope to patients to live a life free from PNH and its symptoms, we recently held an internal awareness event where Rainbow YEUNG and Steve Luk discussed the daily challenges the PNH patients face and how Novartis is committed to developing innovative treatments to address their unmet needs. Join us in raising awareness of this rare disease. Helping PNH patients reclaim their normal lives can make a world of difference for them and their loved ones. Many children are curious about their parents’ daily lives at work. Last Friday, we were filled with gratitude and joy as we welcomed the families of our employees to experience #NovartisHK 2024 Families @ Work. Our Inspiration & Curiosity Committee transformed our Taikoo Office into a world of wonder for our employees' children; filled with magic shows, face painting, and balloon artistry for the little ones to wander, explore, and hunt for “hidden treasures”. The occasion was a meaningful celebration that amplified Novartis' vision of building an “Inspired, Curious, and Unbossed” culture. We’re excited to continue hosting events that allow us to reimagine the way we work and create a culture that not only brings us closer together but also brings out the best in our people. #WorkplaceCulture #PeopleAndCulture
