【Calling Students to Join the 'Shaping Our City Tomorrow' Competition】 Here is a unique opportunity for students to showcase their Green Ideas! Organised in partnership with Arup, the bE inspired! 'Shaping Our City Tomorrow Competition' is now open for Forms 2 to 5 student teams to develop innovative solutions focusing on green buildings, green transportation, or green energy. Participants will present their ideas with a prototype as well as a 1-minute video. Participants will be invited to attend a video production workshop on 22 February to learn easy video editing on mobile. Shortlisted teams will also receive mentorship from Arup engineers to level up their ideas and compete for prestigious prizes and awards. 【Learning Financial Management Through Role Playing Game】 In collaboration with the DBS Foundation, the Finance Park is in full swing. DBS volunteers visited different secondary schools and helped students develop healthy financial skills and attitudes through online simulation of different life stages. Ms. Lina Wong, a DBS volunteer shared, 'As students assume different roles at different stages in life, they gain a deeper understanding of their financial goals and learn to manage their finances effectively to achieve their life goals." 【Shaping Our City Tomorrow: Green Transport】 As part of the bE inspired! programme organised in collaboration with Arup, the Green Transport Workshop welcomed 80 secondary school students at the KMB Kowloon Bay Depot to learn about the benefits of new energy in public transportation. The students had a chance to explore the depot facilities, including bus refuelling, washing, and maintenance, and learn how these processes can be transformed to promote sustainability for our planet. The visit was followed by interactive activities at the Arup office, where students engaged in creative brainstorming sessions in designing their own green transport innovations with our dedicated Arup engineer volunteers. This hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of engineering principles but also opened their eyes to exciting career possibilities in the field! Ready to make a difference? 【Job Shadowing with Smiling Boris】 The Champion team of  the “Post to Compete” Social Media Advocacy Challenge 2024 we co-organised with the Competition Commission, Amma, Van and Sin Ning from CCC Ming Kei College, was awarded with an opportunity to job shadow Smiling Boris, and gained hands-on experience in YouTube content creation. The trio shared, “Winning the championship and getting to create a video with Smiling Boris were incredible. From researching to mastering on-site shooting details like positioning, angles, lighting, and audio quality, we found that YouTube content creation isn't as easy as it seems! We've also learned how to share the reviews effectively. This experience was eye-opening. 【Learning Future Skills from Business Volunteers!】 The recent HSBC x JA Company Programme Future Skills Workshop provided students with the opportunity to engage with business volunteers through interactive games, enabling them to acquire essential skills for the future.
