This week, I’m taking responsibility for my recent lack of activity– or if I’m being honest, my total Slothdom. Between running my business full time, taking care of my Toddler, Getting used to a temporary home in a brand new place, and showing up daily as my husband’s life partner, I have let my exercise routine fall through the cracks. One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to get moving, and to commit to being active and breaking a sweat a few times a week.
I feel better physically and mentally when I’m getting weekly activity, and my recent “break” from it has me feeling like crap. Consider this my re-commitment to the exercise revolution!
I’ve devised a few tips and tricks to stay motivated and keep me on track with my new goal:

This post comes flying in at just the right time as motivation was so needed this side.. LOVING all the so very easy but effective tips. I recently took up swimming wich makes me feel supergood but have found the chlorine harsh on my skin and hair. Bring on the coconut oil! And put bikini on under dayclothes.. Got it! Thank you this monday is feeling so different already.
Yay, Nannick!
It makes me so happy to hear that this post is motivating you! Makes me smile. I will kick my own butt in to gear at the same time you are kicking yours! 😉 You got this!

Hi Eva,
So enjoyed the Today Show segment and hear about your blog.
I wanted to ask if you could source your green water bottle.
I love it. A new fun water bottle sometimes motivates me to rev up my water intake.
Thanks so much!
As always great advice. I’m going to try the strawberry/mint water to see if I can make myself drink more of it!!!
Great!!

Great article! I have been working almost 80 hour weeks these last couple months and have been slacking on the exercise. I love the idea of setting out your clothes. It’s almost like you’re seeing the guilt for not going haha! Such a random question, but who makes your earrings? I’ve been noticing them and they’re gorgeous! <3
Thanks, Alexandra!!
My rose gold star studs are by Jennifer Meyer!

Hello Eva,
That is great, that you are getting back into a running pattern again, you really can’t beat the adrenaline rush of running!
In May it will be six years since my most recent long distance run.
Journeying to run Bloomsday ( https://www.bloomsdayrun.org/ ) the worlds largest timed road race, on our spaceship earth, was an annual event for me to run, as well as walk (Doomsday Hill ‘it’s a somethin’ 😉 ).
The elite runners, both women and men, in this 7.46 mile (12K) on average run this race in 32 to 38 or so minutes.
One year I cracked the below one hour mark, running the race in 58 minutes 8 seconds.
My worst time was 1 hour 9 minutes, and that was well into my 20’s.
Scoliosis makes for a shortened running career.
But sometime in the future, my journeying life partner and I, will invest in an elliptical, much better on the bones and back, with outdoor walks, replacing the harder impacts of running.
It is neat with Bloomsday, hearing about the African Kenyan runners, who for the most part have had MUCH harder lives than most of us, fulfilling their dreams, reachinig goals, while traveling the world thanks to their dedication to their sport, while sharing about their rich culture with the people of the Northwestern United States.
A fellow co leader at your blog, mentioned too much chlorine in swimming water. Too bad there isn’t more swimming water with lavender in it or something like that.
One can dream I guess.
