"WAVE IT" is a collaboration directed by Rosa Pistola for the Nyege Nyege label, bringing together two young producers with innovative minds and a deep understanding of global sounds, while still preserving the sonic authenticity of their cultures in their productions.

On one hand, we have DJ Travella, hailing from Tanzania, specifically from the bustling city of Dar es Salaam. Travella has been making music since he was 10 years old, standing out for his representation of the sound of his city, known as Singeli. This genre emerged around the 2000s and is characterized by its rapid pace, with beats ranging from 180 to 300 BPM, blending traditional Tanzanian sounds with contemporary electronic music.

On the other hand, there is Freebot, from Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, known for taking the tribal sound to another level by fusing it with music from all over the world, giving the genre a fresh twist. Mexican Tribal, also originated around the 2000s and is distinguished by its fast, repetitive percussion, showing strong influences from cumbia, sonidero, and pre-Hispanic music.

"WAVE IT" is a joyful and danceable track, adorned with a beautiful melody created by DJ Travella, while Freebot complements the production with his percussive skills.

This year, we are focused on creating projects that transmit happiness and expand cultural diversity. In a world that constantly tries to divide us, we seek to find unity and harmony through music.
