Boondoggle

Phryxe Is there something in the water in Austria that forms these great rock voices? I love the singing on this and Ozymandias' Cake! Both are on the list of my latest favourite rock albums. Boondoggle is varied rock without being too sprawling. No bad track. No instrument wanking. Great tight playing. Boondoggle, ett helgjutet album! Favorite track: Age of Man.
Logen Ninefingers
Logen Ninefingers thumbnail
Logen Ninefingers Theatrical, progressive rock from Austria that retains an accesible edge. The vocals are one of the most striking aspects of this LP, think Morrisey meets Danzig meets Serj Tankian, third track 'Fire Water...' being one of the best examples. Daring and uncomprimising, yet somewhat familiar, tracks such as the piano-led 'Weight of Worlds' and' Thunder Bay' gallantly blend styles and infuse them into something remarkably unique. Favorite track: Fire Water Holy Ghost.
FDJ (Desert Psychlist)

FDJ (Desert Psychlist) Complexity and simplicity sitting side by side in one wonderful unique and original recording, Fantastic, bombastic and any other 'tastic you could care to mention! Favorite track: Fire Water Holy Ghost.
Bucky

Bucky I love finding stuff like this. Wildly progressive and forward thinking while maintaining an accessibility unmatched in this strain of avant-garde heavy rock. Album of the day 10-6-18.

𝔩𝔬𝔲𝔡-𝔮𝔲𝔦𝔢𝔱-𝔩𝔬𝔲𝔡 𝓟ossessing a truly unique sound amid a sea of subtle variations is no mean feat in 2018, but Grey Czar are among those most wondrous of anomalies. 'Boondoggle' boasts a wholly progressive core, generating heavy rock propulsion and commanded by the most vibrant of vocal deliveries. What may read like the work of a phonic Frankenstein is seamlessly stitched, ultra-electrified and sublimely realised. Favorite track: Thunder Bay.

Age of Man 03:15
i welcome weight to rest into my branches plain a weary eye, to gaze into a tear, a drop like heavy rain the lie the stain like led upon my brow the age of man as witness i behold my crown's tales my roots and vines to serve my purpose my domain a jaded stare to peer into the cleft in which my spirit dwellt an empty room, a vacant tomb the age of man as witness i behold my crown's tales carved into the land the dusk of man as witness i behold my crown's tales carved into the land

it's the thunder of yearning hearts they cannot keep two worlds apart like every word that sparks the birth i'll break the gears that work the world i will fan the flames, with fallen leaves words won't sway, what i believe i won't wait, the mountains fall down on me close your gates, the oceans pour down on me father wait, it's too late take my hands in yours tomorrow, when my cheeks look pale tomorrow, when my heartbeat fails i won't try to undress truth just to feel like she's been used i shall fall asleep resting without grief firewaves and waterflames let judgement reign, by thy name two worlds get torn apart, relief the curtain falls a grand applause, mine in yours and yours in mine two worlds cursed to the end, release

profession of faith my body is my church procession of mind my eyes the beads of prayer as i walk the realm of terror, i say i ask forgiveness for i am flesh and i am sin i'm chanting the words their echo feels divine i plead and recite kneeling for my prayer as my fever reigns in terror, i cry i am forgiveness for i am flesh and i am sin i am the witness for i am flesh and i am sin

waiting, praising the weight of worlds hey you lightnings what are you waiting for i stand here praising open you my door the weight on me the weight of worlds i'm walking, i'm dreaming, i'm drinking, i'm breathing alone hey you fathers what are you thinking of proud if sons are soldiers even more when they are gone the weight of me the weight of thoughts i'm hoping, i'm feeling, i'm spreading my mind into void with all my blinks and doubts the dying flame within a man when fear forms a world made out of sand what will come, what has come before the conscious start praising the poisoned thoughts of guilty men

Thunder Bay 04:19
until this day i left my thoughts in thunder bay a warden bold, a lakehead cold with every wave, the mortal mother pays a cold rock toll, eroding to the bay erode, eroding to the bay erode, eroding to thunder bay what are we, but husks strip the pain, and thoughts what are we, but knots twine the rope, and stop until this day, I've left my heart in thunder bay a gamble bold, the embrace cold with every wave, the salt and brine it takes a piece of me as toll, eroding to the bay erode, eroding to the bay erode, eroding to thunder bay

hatched out of dreams the morning bursts a new day black gold in a mug fingers embrace a cold handle answers hatched out of dreams the morning trots out a new lie an angry pace against a blacktop skin on it's march melting together with tar, sand and stone a forlorn march and while and while it all lays down to rest a precious mind passes by hatched out of dreams the cards are dealt the same way dead weight in a mug time escapes, a face slowly falters hatched out of dreams loud noise mutes out a new lie an angry pace against a blacktop skin on it's march falling apart with a toss of a stone a forlorn march
7.
Sail Away 04:31
we sail away another day we hope you don't mind if you come save us now i know that all is done the glory days are all but gone i believe that there's no one to follow me to sing my song but you said wait, don't seal my fate it drains my veins we sailed away that graceful day we don't want for you to come and save us we gave ourselves to salt this day just hope alone, the waves embrace us

White Velvet 04:33
out of white velvet the head of a horse appears out of thoughts trembling black mountain deeply embedded at rest in itself absorbent cotton occupies the clearance sticking between trees and corpora slightly shaking in depressant waves no sound, but flaring nostrils absorbent cotton occupies the space between to creatures shivering, connected to the same ground grounded to the same soil out of white velvet the head of a horse appears out of thoughts trembling black mountain deeply embedded at rest in itself

the river shalt reclaim my form no remedies my time extend my trail will lead unto descent my gaze upon the vast empyrean i falter, crawl and cry out loud i don't believe in medicine i trust the ground from whence i came i slept but fever stole my dreams away rebirth my frame unto ascent my gaze upon the vast empyrean i falter, crawl and cry out loud i don't believe in medicine i trust the ground from whence i came

about

Once upon a time the boondoggle was a sign of accomplishment, a small but meaningful ornamental piece of leather.
Sadly it has lost it's shimmer, today the boondoggle is used to describe unnecessary and wasteful ventures. Now more
than ever it appears to be a symbol of our times. But for us the Boondoggle still stands for a great achievement.
