Job Overview:
The Operations Management Trainee program will provide an extensive training experience surrounding the areas of Safety, Quality, and Business Operations.
The training rotation will last up to 2 years.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will be provided an opportunity to move into a Supervisor or Manager role at one of our locations.
Key Tasks: Work in different departments alongside supervisors and employees to learn, understand and positively impact production operations.
Partner with other managers to plan and direct the work of the organization.
Analyze and understand company reports related to efficiencies, profit, and inventory activity.
Manage daily production, yields, and downtime in assigned areas.
Identify trends and recommend proactive or remedial actions to address operational situations.
Understand governmental law, regulations, and company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Work with and through management to develop and implement actions, policies or procedures that protect company assets and profitability.
Train and develop management skills while leading and motivating others.
Interpret, apply and/or enforce company policies, programs, rules, regulations, and safety requirements in support of departmental and corporate goals.
Actively engage in employee safety programs and activities to ensure safety in the workplace.
Foster an environment conducive to achieving continuous improvement.
Build strong teams and interact at all levels of the plant, including front line employees.
Attend or lead presentations, meetings, classes, or training and create projects or presentations; take tests if applicable.
Interact with vendors, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications (Required): Bachelor’s Degree in operations, management, or related field or an equivalent combination of both education and leadership experience (5-7+ years).
Willing and able to relocate upon completion of the program.
Must be able to effectively communicate (read/write/speak) in English.
Proven ability to problem-solve and think critically.
Must complete assessment prior to consideration.
Preferred Qualifications: People and relationship focused.
Prior demonstrated leadership experience in the protein industry.
Prior internship or experience with the company.
Self-motivated, proactive individual who will constantly seek improvement opportunities.
Proficient in use of computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Foundation in mathematics, business, sciences, and/or agriculture.
Proven problem-solving and critical thinking ability, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to work across multiple functions and with all levels of employees and leadership.
Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects to meet deadlines.
Versatile, flexible, and willing to work with changing priorities.
Ability to quickly become proficient in software relevant to the job.
