𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐔𝐩𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 On December 5th, 2024, the 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 took place at the𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲, 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐬 (𝐃𝐆 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐖) in Brussels. 🇧🇪 This significant event brought together voices of practitioners and policymakers of the tourism and education sectors in order to shed light on the most recent developments and overall state of the twin transition in the tourism and hospitality sector, specially in what comes to the role of skills development within it. 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐬, 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐕𝐁𝐁 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐊𝐌𝐈 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥, opened the event by highlighting the creation of the TOURing Project. He emphasized how the initiative was designed to address the growing need for workforce transformation in the tourism sector, aligning with the EU’s green and digital policies. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐬𝐢, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 @𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠 on behalf of the AKMI (lead partner) served as the moderator for the Second Panel: Upskilling and Reskilling of Tourism SME – TOURing Experience & Training Material. Here’s a glimpse of what’s keeping us busy this December: 🌟 January Pilots: The pilot phase of Work Package 2 is just around the corner! In January, we’ll be testing our guide designed to support VET institutions’ staff, helping both vocational education professionals and students thrive. This phase will provide valuable insights to refine and enhance our approach. 📚 WP3 in Action: We’re making great progress on Work Package 3, creating a comprehensive Teacher’s and Staff Guide, training materials, and engaging video content. This includes interviews with students and practical tools to empower educators in preparing Ukrainians for vocational education success. 💼 Diving into WP4: Simultaneously, we’ve begun laying the groundwork for Work Package 4, which centers on integrating Ukrainians into vocational education. 📅 Looking Ahead to February: Preparations are already underway for our next transnational meeting in February. This will be an essential opportunity to review our progress, share insights, and plan the next stages of this ambitious project.
