It’s GBC Open Day! On Monday we held a Spinathon and Christmas Fayre to raise funds for Gibraltar’s biggest charity fundraising day. Spearheaded by Matthew Torres, Hassans & Line Group Limited kicked off a 9 hour long spinathon with 23 employees taking part. They collectively cycled a total of 497.734kms over the course of the day - approximately the distance from Gibraltar to Lisbon! Maravilhoso! The spinners were supported by primary school choirs from St Anne’s, Governors Meadow and St Mary’s, as well as performers from MAGS - local DJ Nathan Pereira (Nate), and guitarist/soloist Nicky Borda and Briana Crome. Exciting news! Hassans and Line Group have today launched the Hassans’ Charitable Trust, the firm’s second charitable trust, with a hat trick of donations totalling £20,000 to Calpe House and Cancer Relief Gibraltar. The Trust has been established to further the firm’s reach in helping local charities and organisations which help those in need and/or aid in working to develop our youth. We are excited to be able to extend our support within our local community! Aw shucks! After a mad but brilliant Spinathon fundraiser yesterday, to be rewarded by being awarded the Community Champions #CSR Excellence Award last night is just the icing on the [Christmas] cake. Each year we try to not only increase our financial support to our amazing local charities but we also aim to create opportunities to engage our own people in charitable and community initiatives – like the Great Llanito Bake Off and today’s Spinathon - frequently spearheaded by some of our younger Partners, supported by our Marketing team. Our CSR activity throughout the year not only benefits the charities but creates a sense of fulfilment within our people, which is increasingly important in today’s hectic society. As we close the year, watch this space as we look to extend how we can help those who help us within Gibraltar even further during 2025. Many many thanks to those who voted for us, this is an important and highly valued award that we’re really really proud to have earnt. Christmas in #Gibraltar starts here! 150 breakfast rolls (surpassing our record of 137 last year!) were delivered to our staff by Santa, his Elves and helpers (thanks Stuart Hedley, Paul Cox, Nigel Barclay and team) to the offices of Hassans and Line Group Limited first thing this morning. We also sent across the raw ingredients for 120 rolls to Father Charlie Azopardi to provide lunch for those that rely on his Soup Kitchen. Thank you to the amazing, hardworking and highly patient team at Chestertons Gibraltar (Cherelle Elliot we’re looking at you!) for bringing festive cheer and full tummies to Madison and Father Charlie's Soup Kitchen this morning! P.S. Rumour has it that we have lost our 'Gibraltar's biggest Chesterton's Big Breakfast Order-er" crown but as it's in aid of #GBCOpenDay, which raises '000s for local charities each year, we'll loan it to them this year....
