Ghost Dubs, born Michael Fiedler, aka Jah Schulz, drops 'Damaged Versions' as his first release on The Bug's PRESSURE label...
(None of these Versions appear on the forthcoming album 'Damaged',)
A suitably dank, dubbed out intro to his forthcoming 'Damaged', album (which drops in July on Pressure), these three versions reflect GD's mission to probe dub's outer limits, slowly, deeply and heavily...
'Chemical Version' is a blurred, smeared and hypnotic dub of the album's opening cut. Stasis never sounded so good, as Fiedler manages to miraculously invoke the spirits of Porter Ricks and My Bloody Valentine's shoegaze offspring at their most beautifully molten. Dub and drone fit like hand in glove.
And just like its predecessor, 'Wired Version' also seems to delight in applying a deep freeze to dub's Caribbean tradition. If dub techno was actually ever dubbed out proper, and if the spectre of Black Ark Studios was transmitted to a slow motion, midnight drive on Germany autobahn, it's sound would be reflected in this haunted steppa.
Then lastly, 'Thin Line Version', is a dusted head skank, where sub aquatic melodies are propelled by a slow motion bassbin shaker. Sheer bliss.
A great introduction to the tripped out world of Ghost Dubs, and the perfect lead up to the birth of 'Damaged', dropping imminently...

After a long mixing day, I start discovering these sounds. Soothing, calming. In the middle of the album, 18:49, my computer screen oscillates, loudspeakers move slowly on their stands, a soft dizziness. Earthquake. Yannick DAUBY
