May the love affair continue for the Presidency of Bassirou Diomaye Faye May our hearts not be broken for the massive love given to the youngest President in Africa History will remember Senegal as they celebrate today, their 64th Independence Day with their newly elected and sworn in 44yr old President, Such a remarkable day, which is symbolic for commemoration, the independence and liberation of the Youth of Senegal from years of been ostracised by Macky Sall and his elite political class from manistream Governance, abuse of power and political privileges . It is our hope that he is able to walk the talk and deliver reforms that will put more young people at fore of leadership, churn out policies that will restore the glory of Senegal from the shackles of the current Neocolonial economic regime and chart a rather mutually beneficial partnership with its former colonial master, France. Ghana is watching keenly and sooner than later , will see the emergence of many young Presidential contenders and candidates from new political groups. Young leaders, Never feel too young to present yourselves as capable to lead whenever and wherever the opportunity presents itself. It is possible!!

Great leadership and success are inseparably exclusive . The path to leadership may be accidental or intentional, however your discovery, you will not be spared the consequences of the assignment. When I made my choice over a decade ago, it was very calculated and intentional but knew very little about the consequences, the costs and the prices to pay. Looking back I am glad I didn’t know about the consequences. The journey so far , if I was foretold would have scared the hell out of me enough to have charted a different path. But in hindsight, the conception and birth of Youth Leadership will forever remain one of the greatest and best decisions I have ever made in my life, though at a heavy cost. As always, I continued to reflect on my journey of many deep and dark trenches, the scares, betrayals, the moments of tears, payback of ingratitude from people I have invested resources and given opportunities to be projected on national televisions and radio platforms continued to break my resolve, hope and confidence I gradually came to the point of almost giving up and in a moment of soliloquy, questioning if I made the right decision of spending over GH 100,000 yearly of my savings and personal income on programmes for the youth, year after year, mountain of debts with no sign of external funding, sponsorship or support. These reflections brought me to the hard truth, that the inevitable cross of leadership is a burden carried alone to Golgotha. It is a journey of what I call a “ Leaders Golgotha”, one of total abandonment, solitude and loneliness The years of many reflections and personal growth revealed to me that is it through the crucible of adversities that true leaders are forged, and my willingness to navigate the uncertainties and obstacles speaks volumes about my resilience and commitment demonstrated to deliver the vision of Youth Leadership Parliament. I sought comfort and solace in the knowledge that every sacrifice made has contributed to the greater good and the elevation of many of these young people to high places and to the realisation of their political dreams. While the path to leadership may be fraught with challenges, the rewards of making a meaningful difference in the lives of others far outweighed the costs, brings inner joy and fulfilment Finding the right team with the right attitude and passion to drive me through the journey was a crucial turning point which catapulted the Ylp brand onto international platforms, a brand solid in its credibility to be Parters with the European Union, Parliament of the Republic of Ghana, NCCE and many others. As you read this write up, I hope that my story can be an inspiration to you and all aspiring leaders everywhere, reminding them that greatness is not achieved without sacrifice, and true success is measured not by personal accolades or social media posts and branding, but by the real impact you have made in the lives of people next to you and around the world.

The world to connect and have access to communication with friends and loved ones is something that today’s generation may probably take for granted. Communication in the late 90’s into the early 2000’s, was a world of human Species, seemingly living billions of miles apart yet closer in reality that one could imagine. It was a communication world of primitive mobile phones for calls and SMS, landlines and public pay phones ☎️. As a young high school graduate living and working in the United Kingdom , to call my mother 4000 miles away in Africa was an expensive enterprise. A £10 disposable call card ( Tiger) or ( Call Mama) will give you less than 10 minutes to speak to family overseas. The public pay phones accepted £1 coins only and you slot as many coins in for as long you wish to stay on the call. The harrowing experiences of joining a queue in the cold winter as people took turns to enter the phone booth remain a dejavu each time i walk pass the currently redundant Red PayPhone Booths. Pray the person in the Booth is not talking to a boyfriend, girlfriend or some sweetheart . You are guaranteed a freezing cold-a-thon before it gets to your turn. Few years later, Then BOOM!! Facebook came and changed the world of connectivity and communication. WhatsApp joined to spice it all up with free calls. You can imagine how much facebook meant to my generation. I was like a little kid in a candy shop, spending days online to see pictures of the people I love and have missed for many years unseen. The love affair for facebook continued until I heard there is something called LinkedIn. Already in a love affair with facebook, I was not willing to ditch it for another platform called LinkedIn or whatever. That could amount to ‘digital infidelity’ 😊. Then I changed my mind and took a step , signed up to see what exactly this LinkedIn is all about . ✅Have to confess, wish I joined earlier. ✅Facebook is for the fans and the crowd, ✅LinkedIn is the for funds and crown. Although I have not been regular and consistent , not even for a matching quarter of time spent on facebook, ✅The limited months of engagement on LinkedIn brought some of my biggest breakthrough in business, local and international networking opportunities ✅I spend on facebook ads ✅I make money on LinkedIn without ads Today, I have made a new resolution to start a new chapter here on LinkedIn and to share many of my experiences with you. Please welcome me to LinkedIn and let’s journey together on the London Bus 77. Adios!

This morning, Youth Leadership Parliament joined the Parliament of Ghana at the Commonwealth Celebration Day held at the precincts of Justice DF Annan Auditorium in the House of Parliament This was an event well attended by Heads of Government Agencies, Diplomats , young leaders from University Parliaments, high profiled personalities and Celebrities. The theme for the occasion focused on : “One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth”. Ylp Ghana is grateful for the ever growing relationship , partnership and collaboration with the August House , a Citadel of our Democracy and a Model of which Youth Leadership Parliament simulates. Evidently, Youth Leadership Parliament is Ghana’s most credible and impactful institution with international affiliations and standards, recognised by Stakeholders to lead and champion the capacity building of our Youth for a sustainable Democracy and Good Governance . We continue to extend gratitude to those who laid the foundations with us and sacrificed when the founder needed their support. Your names are written in Gold. We Love ❤️ You !
