Young Female Influencers-YFI had a productive engagement with two other dynamic youth groups; FUYAG and Youth Parliament in the Upper West Region, organized by SAVE-Ghana. Together, we discussed and brainstormed on strategies to effectively advocate for their inclusion in government processes and structures. It’s inspiring to see the passion and commitment of fellow young leaders as we work towards a more inclusive future. This activity is under the HEARD Project in partnership with Norsaac. I am thrilled to share that the Green Minds Project at Young Female Influencers-YFI is changing the narrative on climate change and environmental risks for disadvantaged communities! through climate change education. Climate change and environmental risks are the lived reality of most students, especially those in disadvantaged communities, who disproportionately suffer the impacts of emission, extraction, and environmental degradation. But we're working to equip all children and young people with the tools, mindsets, and skills to collectively mitigate the climate crisis, promote climate justice, and build resilience in the face of climate change. Leading and coordinating this project has been a humbling yet wonderful experience working with amazing partners, supporters, and volunteers.This project has been supported through the She Leads Program. And the best part? #Snippets of our Green Minds Initiative! Indeed, "There is no Planet B!" and #ClimateAction begins with the minds of our younger generation tuning to "green!" 🌿 Over the week, our dedicated Green Minds Volunteers at Young Female Influencers-YFI engaged with students from some basic schools in the Upper West Region. Through interactive sessions, we inspired these young minds to care deeply about the environment, and be stewards of it. A key highlight was the students' recognition of the impact their activities, like improper waste disposal, have on the environment and climate. Feeling empowered, they are now ready to take meaningful actions to protect our planet. These actions include reducing plastic use, promoting recycling, planting trees, conserving water, and advocating for renewable energy. Join us on this campaign!
