Headquarters Staff
The HQ presents the specific features of an umbrella organisation which operates as a general secretariat and administrative coordinator of its member universities. The headquarter staff provides these partners with financial, logistic, communication, research and outreach assistance.
The HQ also functions as an administrative, academic and research centre for the Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation (EMA / Global Campus Europe). Finally, it delivers project management and financial services for additional educational and training activities that take place in Venice and online.
Secretariat
The senior management is comprised of the Secretary General, who is responsible for leading and managing the Global Campus, and the Administrative and Academic Directors, who ensure effective implementation and coordination of programmes and activities under his supervision. The Secretary General is assisted by a personal assistant.
Secretary General
Manfred Nowak
Manfred Nowak has been appointed as Secretary General of the Global Campus of Human Rights in January 2016 (when it was still the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation, EIUC).
He is Professor of Human Rights and Director of the Vienna Master of Arts in Applied Human Rights at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
He served in various expert functions, such as UN expert on enforced disappearances (1993-2006), UN Special Rapporteur on Torture (2004-2010), judge at the Human Rights Chamber for Bosnia and Herzegovina (1996-2003) and Vice Chairperson of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency (2013-2018). In 2016 he was appointed Independent Expert leading the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty.
In addition to his function as Professor of Public and International Law at Vienna University, Manfred Nowak also served as Director of the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights at Utrecht University (SIM: 1987-1989) and of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights at Vienna University (BIM: 1992-2019) as well as Visiting Professor at the University of Lund (2002-2003), the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva (2008-2009), and at Stanford University in Palo Alto (2014).
He is author of more than 600 publications in the fields of public and international law and human rights.

Administrative and Human Resources Director
Elisabetta Noli
Elisabetta’s primary function is to oversee the work of the HQ administrative departments: premises, IT and web marketing services, finance, general services and communication/PR/fundraising. She also supervises the project department that is in charge of organising training seminars, summer schools and conferences in Venice.
Elisabetta monitors the implementation of GC activities, authorises expenditures and advises the Secretary General and GC Governing bodies on institutional issues, human resources and partnerships.
She holds a post-graduate Diploma in Human Rights Protection Techniques from the University of Padua and has been serving the GC since its inception as a project manager. She has also been actively involved in advocacy work with Amnesty International, Antigone and other Italian CSOs.

Academic Director
George Ulrich
Prof. George Ulrich has worked for the Global Campus in a variety of capacities. He served as GC Europe / EMA Programme Director from 2016-2019, as Secretary General of EIUC (the predecessor of the Global Campus) from 2003-2009, and as Academic Coordinator / Programme Director of EMA from 2001- 2004.
In between these appointments, he held the position of Rector and Professor of Human Rights at the Riga Graduate School of Law from 2009-2016.
George obtained his Ph.D. as well as an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Toronto, Canada, and holds the degree of Cand. Mag. in Social Anthropology and History of Ideas from Aarhus University, Denmark.
Among his main research interests are issues related to the history and philosophy of human rights, human rights diplomacy, human rights and development cooperation, health and human rights, international medical ethics, and ethics for human rights professionals.
He is one of the joint editors of a Global Campus publication on music and human rights. A key focus of his teaching is to equip students to effectively engage with expressions of human rights scepticism.

Administration and Reporting Manager
Valentina Abita
Valentina joined the Global Campus in November 2013. She currently assists the Administrative Director with grant applications, reporting, institutional cooperation and other administrative procedures at HQ level. In her previous role as Project Manager of Global Activities she coordinated joint conferences, research projects, internships, visibility/advocacy initiatives, etc. in cooperation with the colleagues of the seven GC regional programmes.
Valentina gained 10-year professional experience in project management and networking with EU institutions. In the past she worked as project manager in Brussels in the field of civil society participation and social inclusion, as well as an assistant in the external relations department of the Permanent Representation of Ireland to the EU during the EU Irish Presidency in 2013. She has also collaborated with different international NGOs, institutions and other stakeholders on EU projects and policy and advocacy initiatives.
Valentina holds a Master’s degree in International relations from the University of Bologna and a Post-graduate Diploma in European studies from the European College of Parma.

Head of Office of the Secretary General
Imke Steimann
Imke supports the Secretary General by managing his agenda of appointments and events, organising missions, conferences and events, carrying out background research and producing documents, reports, presentations and briefing papers. She also maintains the liaison with relevant partner institutions and stakeholders. She further established and coordinates the Afghan Scholars and Students at Risk Programme in mid-2021 in response to the human rights crisis in Afghanistan, and is supported in its organisation and administration by Julia Runte.
Prior to joining the Global Campus in 2020, Imke worked as Project Assistant at the Munich Security Conference.
Before, she interned at the German Mission to the United Nations in New York and the London-based NGO Child Soldiers International.
Imke graduated from a Human Rights Master’s Programme at the University of Vienna where she focused on children’s rights and armed conflict. She also holds a BA degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a major in Governance from the University in Freiburg, and spent an exchange year in Canada.

Project Officer for the Afghan Scholars and Students at Risk Project
Julia Runte
Julia Runte joined the Global Campus at the end of 2021 as the Project Officer for the Afghan Scholars and Students at Risk Programme where she coordinates activities and administration of the project.
Before moving to Venice, she worked for VOICE, a small NGO working against violence against women and girls in humanitarian settings and localizing programming and funding for it, as well as internships with the International Rescue Committee HQ and the Venice Bureau of UNESCO. She also is a 2018 alumna of the EMA programme. Additionally, she is a former primary school teacher in both the US and China.
She holds a European Masters in Human Rights and Democratisation from the Global Campus, a Masters in Education from the New Jersey City University, and a Bachelor’s in Anthropology from the George Washington University.

Assistant to the Senior Management
Giada Ferrarese
Giada assists the Senior Management with organisational and administrative tasks linked to the overall operations and management of the organisation.
She previously interned at the Europe Direct office of the City of Venice where she organised cultural events for the promotion of public debate on topics such as European legislation, funding opportunities and youth mobility programmes. During her studies Giada also collaborated with Ca’ Foscari University administration offices and carried out a 6 month internship at the Placements Abroad Unit assisting students with administrative procedures for world-wide traineeship programmes.
She holds a BA in Languages, Civilisations and Science of Language focused on French and Russian studies and a Master's degree in Comparative International Relations with an in-depth study of the Mediterranean geographic area.

We create and manage all distance-learning activities, including Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), specialised online courses and e-learning partnerships with key stakeholders. We also support and coordinate efforts in all GC Regional Programmes to reinforce digitalisation and open education by complementing on-site activities with free online components.

Angela Melchiorre
Dr. Angela Melchiorre manages all Global Campus e-learning activities. As a certified Instructional Designer with decades of experience in both human rights and online teaching, she creates digital learning experiences that are pedagogically sound, substantively accurate and technically engaging. She has worked in human rights since 2000 with multi-sectoral experiences.
In her previous roles, she was Programme Director of the European Master's Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation (EMA) and Lecturer at the University of London where she earned her PhD with a thesis on child marriage and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Other teaching activities include post-graduate courses in universities around Europe.
Angela has also experience as research coordinator with ActionAid International, human rights delegate in the Italian and EU Permanent Missions at the UN in Geneva and New York, independent consultant with UNESCO, UNICEF, UN CEDAW, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education.
Her areas of expertise are children's rights, the right to education and Human Rights in International Politics. She graduated from EMA in 2000.

Weronika Grelow
A certified Instructional Designer, Dr. Weronika Grelow is responsible for the conceptualisation, implementation and follow-up of specialised e-learning courses, which she enriches with cross-cultural knowledge, meaningful assessment models and creative interactions. She joined the Global Campus team after several years of humanitarian fieldwork.
In her previous human rights roles she provided legal, educational and social support to migrants and asylum seekers in refugee camps in Italy, Turkey and Lebanon. Other experiences include research and project assistance to the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS in Istanbul, assistance to the development of human rights education programmes at the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights in Vienna, and documentation support to UNMIK, OSCE Anti-trafficking Unit in Kosovo.
Weronika holds a Ph.D. in Transcultural Studies on Eurasia and North Africa from the University of Ca' Foscari in Venice, an M.A. in International Protection of Human Rights from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and a Master's Degree in Oriental Studies from the University of Warsaw.

Daniela La Mattina
Daniela is responsible for the preparation, implementation and evaluation of e-learning activities. She develops learner-centred courses and materials that use a variety of technologies, including gamification, digital collaboration, Scenario Based Learning and big data. She joined the E-Learning Department in 2022 after having worked as EMA Executive Officer for 4 years.
In her previous role, Daniela liaised with EMA students and the University of Padua concerning certificates, logistics and administrative issues. Prior to joining the Global Campus, she spent three years at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa promoting social mobility in education. She also previously worked in the field of democracy support at the European Parliament, the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance and the Italian Embassy in the Republic of Congo.

Giacomo Ottonello
Giacomo liaises with regional and external partners, as well as Alumni, to ensure that digital engagement is embedded in the design, implementation and innovation of all Global Campus e-learning activities. He has joined the E-Learning Department in 2022 after having worked as Project Officer in the Global Activities Department for 6 years.
In his former role, Giacomo supported the Global Campus worldwide network in the creation and management of joint activities such as the Policy Observatory, the Global Classroom, the GC International Conference and the Visual Contest. He also coordinated the Global Campus Alumni Association.
Previously, Giacomo was International Relations Officer in Confindustria/Federpesca, working mainly on project management, policy analysis and lobbying, and Project Officer at Sant'Anna School. Prior to these experiences, he worked in the cooperation field in Kenya, Congo and Haiti.

The aim of the department is to develop research-based knowledge and activities contributing to the implementation of projects undertaken both at the Global Campus Headquarters and its regional hubs in cooperation with participating universities.
Research Manager
Dr. Chiara Altafin
Dr. Chiara Altafin leads various research-based activities and projects at the GC Headquarters, with a primary focus on strengthening research, education, training, network-building and advocacy for the rights of children. Since September 2015 she has also worked as EMA Fellow, and lectures on topics related to human rights, International and European law, coordinates and teaches in the Children’s Rights Cluster, and conducts academic skills, legal research methods and thesis proposal workshops.
Chiara holds a Ph.D in International Law from the European University Institute, an LL.M in Comparative, European and International Law from the EUI, a Master’s in Rule of Law, Democracy and Human Rights from LUISS University, and graduated cum laude at the Law Department of Roma Tre University. She was a visiting research scholar at the Center for International and Comparative Law of the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor. Her main research interests concern economic, social and cultural rights in times of crisis, including in contexts of armed conflict and occupation, children’s rights, business and human rights, social justice, environmental and climate justice, and governance.
Chiara leads the UN Global Study component of the ACRiSL project (2020-2023), focusing on children’s rights affected by migration-related detention. She has also led a project aimed at enacting the Global Study recommendations in the European Context, engaging with ENOC as well as national and regional ombudspersons in Italy. In 2018-2019 she was lead researcher on the situation of ‘children living in prisons with their primary caregivers’ for the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty, and the main author of the related chapter.
Chiara is one of the editors of GC Human Rights Preparedness. Previously she edited the GCHRJ’s first special focus on children’s rights. She coordinated the EMA research contributions to the Global Classroom 2021 and 2020. She contributed to the GC MOOCs on ‘Children Deprived of Liberty’ and ‘Child Participation and the Right to a Sustainable Environment’. In 2016-2017 she was senior researcher on the FP7 FRAME project.
Over the last thirteen years Chiara worked as lecturer and research and teaching assistant in International Law, International Organization and Human Rights, Human Rights and International Protection, International Protection of Cultural Heritage, and International Criminal Law at LUISS University, where she also was a member of the Research Team on the FP7 PRIV-WAR project. She conducted research and editorial activities for IAI (Istituto Affari Internazionali). She worked as a trainee lawyer at Avvocatura Generale dello Stato in Rome (2005-2007) and has been admitted to the Italian Bar.

Stefania Saccarola
Stefania started working for GC Europe / EMA in 2001. She literally built the library from scratch and developed it through the years as a highly specialised research library. In addition, she has continuously adopted new technology aimed at enhancing access and usability. She is the main reference person for the Global Campus Open Knowledge Repository, institutional publications and copyright issues.
Stefania worked previously as a library assistant at the University of Bologna and the National Library Marciana in Venice. She holds a Master’s degree in Librarianship and Cultural Heritage Preservation.

Cristina Moras
Cristina joined the Global Campus as receptionist in 2016. She is responsible for welcoming and assisting staff members, professors, students, guests and invitees in events and activities that take place at the HQ throughout the year.
She also supports the preparation of the folders, technical equipment, rooms, catering and cleaning services. Cristina is responsible for checking incoming/outgoing mail and faxes, updating databases and archiving EMA publications and documentation.
She studied Romanesque modern languages and literature at the University of Padua. She lived in Portugal and worked as language assistant in Romania.

Academic Partnerships Manager
Manuela Pegoraro
Manuela supports the consolidation and growth of the Global Campus international network, including its 100+ members and partners. She manages cross-regional activities such as the International Conference and the Global Classroom, hosted each year by one of our regional hubs.
Manuela works closely with the Academic Director in the coordination of the Academic Affairs Committee, ensuring it serves as a platform for new global initiatives and joint ownership. She is also the editor of the Global Campus Annual Reports and assists with institutional communication.
Manuela has 15+ years of experience in education, communication and project management. She previously worked for an agency of the European Commission and in academic and non-profit organisations in Europe, the USA and the Middle East. She has managed professional networks and multinational project teams, and led the development of tech and multimedia projects.
Manuela holds a Master’s degree in E-learning from the University of Florence and a Master’s degree in Cultural Management from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle. She is also a PRINCE2 certified Project Manager.

Head of Unit - Capacity Development
Adriano Remiddi
Adriano is an experienced practitioner in the field of development cooperation for higher education. He is committed to promoting democracy and human rights education in post-conflict, developing and transitional societies, and is currently in charge of the GC Capacity Development programme.
In about 15 years spent dealing with the Southeast Europe and later the Asia-Pacific, he has developed a distinctive mix of academic and managerial skills, gaining a diversified and progressively responsible experience.
Since 2019 Adriano has led a project aimed at establishing the Human Rights Centre of the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL).
Previously he worked as Academic Tutor and subsequently Coordinator of the GC South East Europe/ERMA on behalf of the Institute for Central-Eastern and Balkan Europe/University of Bologna (IECOB).
As IECOB research fellow in regional studies he also lectured internationally, published, organised scientific conferences and participated in various panels as speaker. From 2014 to 2020 he served as president of the alumni association of the MA in Eastern European Studies of the University of Bologna.

Hazem Mizyed
Hazem coordinates the Global Campus Alumni (GCA) network. He organises core GCA activities such as the GCA Careers Programme, coordinates GCA events and in-person meetups, manages GCA communications and the website, and enables coordination between the 7 regional alumni associations of the Global Campus.
Prior to joining the Global Campus, he worked as Regional Children's Rights Officer for GC Arab World; programme coordinator at UNDP; project manager on child rights' activities; and research assistant. His focus is on effective communication and coordination to advance human rights and fight climate change.
Hazem is an alumnus of the GC Arab World Master's Programme. In addition to his degree in Human Rights and Democratisation, he holds a degree in Psychology from Birzeit University in Palestine.

Children’s Rights Department
Together with the children’s rights regional officers across our network, we work closely with the Right Livelihood Foundation (RLF) in order to promote and protect the rights of children worldwide through research, education and advocacy projects. This includes the follow-up initiation activities under the umbrella of the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty. We further cooperate with the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights in order to strategically defend the rights of children.
Children’s Rights Manager
Barbara Strasser
Barbara Strasser oversees the development and implementation of children’s rights projects under the Global Campus - Right Livelihood cooperation, in close coordination with Child Rights Specialists in the 8 regional hubs of the Global Campus.
Barbara is a child protection specialist with extensive on-the-ground experience working in complex emergencies, focusing on conflict-affected contexts. She has worked with the ICRC and INGOs and has striven to promote and implement right-based approaches to humanitarian work, with a focus on child rights.
Main areas of expertise: Children and Armed Conflict, including Children Associated with Armed Forces and Armed Groups (CAAFAG), protection of children on the move, case management for children affected by violence and abuse, including child survivors of trafficking, child rights programming and child protection systems strengthening. Barbara holds a Master’s degree in Social Anthropology from Vienna University, and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Juvenile Justice from Geneva University.

John Paul P. A. Amah
John Paul P. A. Amah joined the Global Campus of Human Rights as an intern in 2021. He worked with the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty team and supported the project management on children’s rights. Presently, he is the Child Rights Officer based in Venice and supports activities of the Children’s Rights Department.
Before joining the Global Campus, he worked for 10 years as youth and adolescent educator and counsellor in different regions of Cameroon. He also worked as Field Officer for ‘Human Is Right’, a Cameroon-based NGO where he undertook field missions and documented human rights violations in the English-speaking parts of Cameroon under armed conflict.
He holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratisation from the EMA Programme. He also holds a Post Graduate Teachers’ Diploma Grade II, obtained from Ecole Normale Superieure, University of Yaounde I, a Maitrise en Droit, from the University of Yaounde II, and a Bachelor’s in Management and Environment Geography, from the University of Dschang, all in Cameroon. Manu Krishan
Manu Krishan is the Global Study Programme Manager and coordinates all activities related to the dissemination and follow-up to the Study.
During the Global Study implementation he was the Coordinator and Assistant to the Independent Expert leading the United Nations Global Study on Children deprived of Liberty based first at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights followed by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human rights in Geneva.
Manu Krishan studied philosophy before graduating from the Vienna Master of Arts in Human Rights at the University of Vienna. He is a human rights researcher and Project Manager with proficiency in children’s rights, particularly on ethical considerations when researching with and for children.

We manage all educational and training projects implemented in Venice, including the Venice School of Human Rights, the Training Seminars Series (on International Electoral Observation and ECHR jurisprudence), the Cinema, Human Rights and Advocacy Summer School, and other educational and training events organised by the GC.

Alberta Rocca
Alberta ensures the successful implementation of educational events carried out at GC headquarters in Venice such as training programmes and summer schools.
She is responsible for the planning and execution of the Project Department’s activities throughout each stage of their development, including: submission of proposals, budgeting and financial management, development of internal support mechanisms and knowledge sharing, team coordination, supervision of communication and logistics tasks, and drafting of evaluation and reporting.

Larisa Barbu
Larisa joined the Project Department in 2023 and supports the implementation of the projects, training and summer schools’ events.
She holds a Master’s degree in Comparative International Relations from Ca‘ Foscari University with a thesis in International Political Economy on the 2015 and 2022 refugee crises; and a Bachelor in Languages, Civilisations and Science of Language with a focus on international politics from the same university.
Larisa worked as a project assistant at the European Master & Training Desk of the Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce in Brussels where she assisted the implementation of several European projects, the organisation of the training activities and the drafting and publishing of promotional materials.
Additionality, she organised the exhibition titled “Stolen Memory” in collaboration with a team at Ca’ Foscari University.

Sara Brogliato
Sara joined the Project Department in 2020 and supports the different organizational phases of training events and summer schools.
She holds a Master's degree in Comparative International Relations at Ca' Foscari University with a thesis specialising on United States contemporary history, and a Bachelor in Languages, Civilisations and Science of Language always at Ca' Foscari University in English and Spanish, with a focus on international law and international political economy.
She has collaborated for six months with the Welcome Office at Ca' Foscari University, assisting international prospective students in their application process. She had study experiences abroad as an Erasmus+ student in Spain and the UK.

We supervise Global Campus finances and liaise with GC partners in implementing the budget of the action grant. We monitor expenditure progress, supervise accounting practices by GC partners and HQ, take care of budgeting and financial reporting, prepare for audits and manage daily book-keeping, payments and other administrative tasks.

Paolo Rech
Paolo joined the Global Campus mid-2022. His core responsibility is to manage the Global Campus financial and budgeting activity, including collecting data, liaising with our regional hubs and partners and producing the financial statements.
Paolo interfaces with our main donors (e.g. the European Commission), provides accurate reporting and ensures compliance with contracts and with national and European provisions.
Paolo holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. He has extensive administrative experience as a Controller and CFO both in large companies and non-profit institutions. Before joining the Global Campus, he worked in Milan as executive advisor for a multinational corporation in the telecom sector.

Giulia Vallata
Giulia joined the Global Campus in 2016, where she currently serves as Finance Officer and especially supports projects targeting endangered scholars.
Previously, Giulia gathered extensive administrative experience in the private sector.
She was a research fellow at Venice Ca’ Foscari University, working for the department of Languages and Comparative Cultural Studies where she was entrusted with a study on the history of Ca Foscari’s internationalisation process.
Giulia holds a Master’s Degree in Comparative International Relations with a focus on transatlantic relations earned at the University of Ca’ Foscari; her thesis was on gender issues within the American civil rights movement. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a focus on politics and European integration from the University of Padua.

Prior to joining the Global Campus, Valeria worked for international art exhibitions in Venice for several years. Premises and Technical Services Manager
Luca Fantinel
Luca has worked for the Global Campus since 2004, including as finance manager for 11 years. Currently he operates the headquarters facility located at the Monastery of San Nicolò on the Venetian island of Lido.
Luca takes care of building maintenance and administration, IT and communications infrastructure, environment, health, safety aspects and related contractual matters. He also manages the relations with the City of Venice which provides the premises, and oversees all logistics involved in events management.
Before joining the Global Campus, he gained experience in the private sector both in managing companies and developing startups. He holds a degree in economics from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and a Master in Business and Administration from the University of Kansas.

Samuele Schiavon
Samuele is a professional UX/UI designer who has consulted for the Global Campus of Human Rights on various web projects since 2013. At the beginning of 2023 he joined the HQ staff and currently manages all IT and web-related tasks and projects.
Over the years he has collaborated as a consultant with some of the major Italian web and digital media companies (H-Farm, H-Art/AQKA, Jakala, Hibo, Alpenite). In 2010 he founded the consulting firm Babel Studio (formerly The Creative Way) which has developed several projects for brands, companies, institutions and organszations. In 2008 he was certified Short Term Expert by the European Commission for the implementation of Digital projects financed by EU and non-EU Governments and in this context he worked in Countries such as Romania, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia. He has taught Web Design techniques both in the private business sector and in the public sector (Veneto Region, FSE).
His interest focuses on ergonomics of digital interfaces, usability, design and in general the human cognitive process and the man-machine relationship. Samuele holds a BA in ancient history and a specialist degree in computer science for humanities at Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

Gaia Balbo
Gaia joined the Global Campus in 2018. She is responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring digital marketing campaigns in collaboration with the IT and Web Marketing Officer. She is in charge of regularly updating the GC Human Rights Preparedness blog.
Gaia also assists in the uploading of content on the GC website. She collaborates with the Fundraising, PR and Communication Department by managing the Global Campus Instagram account.
Gaia holds a bachelor’s degree in Language, Civilisation and the Science of Language and a master’s degree in International Relations, both from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. She gained learning experience in Portugal and Brazil and work experience in Russia.

We support all communication efforts of the Global Campus. We act as the institution's press office by providing social media services, handling PR and visibility efforts for GC activities, and coordinating internal graphics and merchandising. We also manage campaigns and activities by developing promotional projects and events that reflect the programmatic focus of the Global Campus.

Elisa Aquino
Elisa has been working for the Global Campus since 2016. Her first endeavour was to set up the press and fundraising office.
Previously, Elisa was a Business Development Manager in the corporate sector, responsible for growing the client portfolio. She started her career as a young diplomat and worked for twelve years in New York, London and Brussels. As a volunteer, she also supported the project management of "Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia", VHC, Autoworld and the Magritte Museums.
Elisa is a lawyer and holds an LLM in International Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She has also studied at Stanford University, Emory University, Google Careers, the OAS, UN, the Getulio Vargas Foundation, London St Martin's School of Arts and the London Film Academy.

With over six years of experience in the media industry, she began her career as a Radio Journalist for RAI Radio3 & RCF Radio, conducting interviews and producing socio-political programs.

Isotta Esposito
Isotta started working at the Global Campus in 2015. One of her first challenges was to effectively communicate the transition from EIUC (the GC predecessor) to Global Campus of Human Rights. She is responsibe for managing external communications, press work and public relations, as well as social media and digital PR in coordination with her team.
Isotta is a journalist, member of the Bar of Journalists of the Veneto Region. She was a research fellow at Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari and Communication and Media Strategist at Università Ca’ Foscari.
Isotta holds a Master’s Degree in Publishing and Journalism from the University of Verona. While studying she founded a cultural association based in Venice and collaborated as a performer and director with a theatre company and an event agency. She recently earned online certificates from the Happiness Research Institute of Copenhagen, Ogilvy and MasterClass.

Francesco joined the Global Campus in February 2022, where he is employed as a versatile staff member.

Cristina joined the Global Campus as receptionist in 2016. She is responsible for welcoming and assisting staff members, professors, students, guests and invitees in events and activities that take place at the HQ throughout the year.
She also supports the preparation of the folders, technical equipment, rooms, catering and cleaning services. Cristina is responsible for checking incoming/outgoing mail and faxes, updating databases and archiving EMA publications and documentation.
