Following a 15% increase in France over the last two year, food spreads are set to be the go-to product for enhancing the flavor of bread, crackers and other snacks. 🍯 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - From butter to jellies, margarine to nut butters, companies are adapting to consumer trends by offering organic, plant-based, and artisanal spreads, while also unveiling innovative packaging. The market includes a wide range of catering products to diverse consumer preferences such as honey for its sweetness and health benefits or chocolate-based spreads for a comforting treat. 👨🍳 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - Within the food spreads sector, products vary in usage, serving both home kitchens and restaurants. The snacking sector keeps growing in sales with an increase of 25% for crisps, 14% for cookies, and 16% for sweets in France, demonstrating consumers’ temptation habits in the last 2 years. 🍕 Comfort food varies widely depending on individual preferences and cultural traditions. For some, it might be translated by sharing a meal with loved ones while for others it might be ordering a pizza to eat on the couch. Comfort food is related to experiences and memories, it creates an edible connection to feelings. 🥜 While comfort food remains a staple for emotional satisfaction, growing health consciousness is reshaping how consumers approach their indulgences. The snacking industry has adapted its strategy to satisfy consumers’ new wellness-oriented lifestyles by offering healthier options such as plant-based chocolate spreads or products rich in protein and natural products.     𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 🥒🤝 In recent years, healthy products have gained momentum as consumers increasingly seek less processed foods, free from additives, and more environmentally friendly. 🥗 According to a Kantar study, 74% of people believe their food may harm their health.. To align with this trend, companies are innovating with ingredients that are good for consumers’ health while being tasty. Non-alcoholic beverages, protein products, and food made with plant-based alternatives are on the rise and grabbing the attention of the food industry. 🍣 At SIAL Paris 2024, healthy foods were flooding the aisles of the exhibitions from the SIAL Innovation sector with Fève’camole from Groupe JEAN HÉNAFF SA, protein snacks such as cookies from BiteMe Nutrition to plant-based alternatives with KING Konjac. Professionals were able to try close to 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗦𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀. Congratulations to all the winners! 👏 → 𝟲𝟱𝟬 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 were exhibiting their products in the SIAL Startup hub; companies were able to pitch their projects to professionals and investors during SIAL Pitch and had the opportunity to get feedback from well-established industry players. 🚀 → Kelly Flandrin hosted an 𝗔𝗽𝗲́𝗿𝗼 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 with 250 guests at the Guinguette, shedding light on some SIAL Innovation and exhibitors’ products. A true success! 🥑 → A Sunday night marked by the 𝟲𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 with many happenings with a DJ, singer, dancing robots, dancers, choir, bands. Finding the right packaging is all an art as it has to be attractive and practical for consumers while being more sustainable. 🫙 The exhibition ALL4PACK Emballage Paris is a fair showcasing innovative packagings, decrypting new trends and highlighting the challenges the industry faces. Packagings can be a reflection of the company, they have to be qualitative and well-thought such as reusable jars enabling consumers to shop food in bulk, reducing waste. 🎙️ On Monday, our director, Audrey ASHWORTH, and Xavier Terlet, senior advisor at PROTÉINES GROUPE, talked about the changes in consumption patterns and packaging expectations in the food industry during a conference at ALL4PACK.
