Take n8n + Clay, you get Cargo (YC S23) 🧱. Not exactly, but it may have its place in hosting GTM systems. By learning the basic language on Cargo (soon to be AI Prompts), you can automate sales/marketing workflows. Have been working with Aurelien Aubert 🧱 on some templates that would be useful for teams using the 2024 RB2B, Clay, Smartlead stack. I've always done Smartlead positive reply -> HubSpot integrations via Clay, so I can easily enrich for missing LinkedIn URLs and Phone Numbers. But I run into a few issues: - The conversation history reaches the cell limit so I can't store that in HubSpot. - Can't create HubSpot deals or notes in Clay (Correction: You can outside of the integration via HTTP API). - Time delays between auto-updating columns aren't programmable in Clay, so some HTTP API calls fail. Was able to solve this by building on Cargo. 1️⃣ Get positive reply webhook from Smartlead. 2️⃣ Create a variable for email history. 3️⃣ Find missing phone numbers with FullEnrich. 4️⃣ Find missing LinkedIn URLs with People Data Labs. 5️⃣ Create a HubSpot note for email thread, and HubSpot deal to track pipeline. 6️⃣ Associate them to the updated contact and account, filling in some HS fields for revenue tracking. Done. Would you want to try the Cargo template, or the Clay version? What should I build next? 👇

🎉Honored for my interview to be published in Les Echos Majorel... Why is it important to "crash test" AI models? 🤖💥 AI is everywhere these days, especially in customer-facing chatbots. But how do we make sure these AI systems are reliable & secure? Here are my takeaways: • AI systems need quality control, just like any industrial product.🛡️ • The EU AI Act will make testing mandatory for high-risk AI use cases in finance, infrastructure, healthcare, and public services. 🇪🇺 • Pilot phases are crucial, especially for public-facing AI deployments. ✈️ • Main risks: quality issues, security vulnerabilities, and regulatory non-compliance. ⚠️ • Identifying biases & security issues requires adversarial testing methods. 🔍 • Companies with a quality-focused culture are leading the way in AI risk assessment. 🏆 (Link to the full article in the comments) We're still in the early days of AI adoption and risk management. It's an exciting time to be working on these critical challenges. Big thanks to Franck Mayans for inviting me to explain this complex & important topic. Your questions helped shine a light on why AI testing matters! 🙏 #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Security #Quality #Compliance

Companies can leave 3 to 20% of revenue on the table if salespeople have to use a pricing grid that is not flexible enough to accommodate customers’ acceptance limits. The world record of Armand Duplantis gives me a great opportunity to illustrate how salespeople should approach prospects’ pricing acceptance limits. See it like this: 1. Salesperson (= the athlete, with his relationship and pitching skills) 2. What is proposed (= the pole) 3. The pricing grid/system giving him a price for what is offered (= the bar) 4. The customer pricing acceptance (= the bar) 5. Money left on the table even if the deal is won Example: The salesperson easily sells deals like these: - Customer A: 4.625€ - Customer B: 4.890€ - Customer C: 4.768€ What if he tried to sell at 4.950€ to all of them? Probably the same closing rate, but the average deal size would increase by 4%. How far will Armand Duplantis go? How far can your salespeople go with the pricing grid you gave them? #pricing #sales #salesenablement #growth #revops

🌍 [Tribune] Daf: Key Players in Managerial, Environmental, and Technological Transitions - How to Navigate the Finance of Tomorrow? 🌱 As the Director of Innovation, I'm constantly exploring the evolving landscape of finance and its intersection with sustainability and technology. Today, I came across an insightful article that sheds light on the changing role of CFOs in managing the financial aspects of companies amidst increasing regulations and societal expectations. Let me share the main takeaways with you. Gone are the days when CFOs were solely financial managers. They have now become strategic leaders, responsible for navigating the complex intersection of economic, social, and environmental performance. This shift requires CFOs to make decisions that go beyond financial results and incorporate corporate social responsibility (CSR) criteria. To fulfill this new responsibility, CFOs need to adopt a holistic and systemic approach, equipped with the tools and skills to understand and anticipate risks related to environmental and managerial transitions. They must align financial decisions with long-term objectives while integrating the requirements of new directives such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). But here's the exciting part - the article also highlights the opportunities presented by regulations like the CSRD and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D). These regulations allow CFOs to reposition their companies and transform obligations into competitive advantages. By leveraging emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain, CFOs can become technological conductors, driving the transformation of the finance function. This is a chance for CFOs to redefine their role within the company, integrating sustainable finance and leveraging emerging technologies to create value for the future. By embracing sustainability, digital transformation, and nurturing a future-ready finance workforce, CFOs can become strategic changemakers, driving organizational growth and sustainability. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this topic. How do you see the role of CFOs evolving in the face of increasing regulations and societal expectations? Share your insights and let's foster a discussion on how we can shape the future of finance together. #CFOs #Sustainability #DigitalTransformation #FutureReadyFinance #StrategicChangemakers

I think I just put my finger on it: the seniority between BDRs and Account Executives is reversing 🤯 I predict that super senior BDRs are going to become very common in the next few years. Think about it — this inevitable shift coming to B2B sales is already underway. For top of funnel 🎩: 👉 starting conversations is getting harder 👉 AI-fuelled outreach is not only ineffective, but making it worse 👉 AI research and enrichment tools like Clay are SO strong, accessible and easy to use that skills in this area are not really competitive advantage anymore 👉 Reputation, thought leadership, strong network are what is working the best, and these things can only be achieved through experience! Meanwhile, on bottom of funnel ⬇️: 👉 There are dozens of RFP and proposal automation tools assisting with generating deal collateral 👉 AI tools like Fluint are giving closers real time guidance through the funnel 👉 Buyers are doing so much research on their own that marketing departments can pick up so much more of the workload through the funnel 👉 Strong CRM game is now table stakes, which make managing bottom of funnel so much more manageable We are seeing this a lot with fractional and consulting businesses today, but not so much in SaaS. Gong has done an amazing job of getting their team with active on LinkedIn, but I don’t know if there’s a shift in their hiring profiles or role design. Maybe there is. Anyone else seeing what I’m seeing?

Source = Le Figaro Emploi April 16th 2024 and posted on LI April 17th 2024 by Elisabete Frias, Dirigeante d’entreprise chez ED consulting @Elisabete, thank you so much! Posting the link to the article inspired me to write this post. The content of this article is strong, and it is emphasizing what I have been thinking since mid 2023. In France, but probably elsewhere in Europe as well, there is not much appetite for hiring people above a certain age, even though there is this shortage of employees in general and especially employees with a lot of experience on-the-job. The reason for the "reluctancy" is quite astonishing, so while reading the article, this prompted me to relighten the fire on my “crusade” for getting hired again (never mind the form or shape of contract), because this article was an eye-opener for me, and probably as well for a lot of my fellow-generation. If by any chance this post will get me hired, I will fall of my chair, but it will be a very soft landing! The article in Le Figaro Emploi highlighted the most interesting findings in the report by Review Jobs – titled « More seniors in the workplace". I have taken the liberty to summarize the most compelling ones; 1. 30% of "young people" who don't want to work alongside older people 2. 40% of employees, and half of senior managers, think “older employees are at a loss when it comes to new technologies and are incapable of mastering them” 3. 31% of young employees believe that older people are incapable of adapting to new ways of working - i.e. teleworking, collaborative projects, more flexible hierarchical roles 4. ONLY 18% of older workers feel out of step with these changes in the world of work. All misconceptions of course, so I am inviting recruiters, managers, and all others to jump over their own shadow, see what value our generation has to offer and if that value fits your company. It all starts with a first conversation, so don’t hold back or dismiss us mainly based on general misconceptions! #misconceptions#recruitment#gettinghired#crusade

Invest in Your Sales Team: Every week, I receive messages from individuals asking me to work on a commission-only basis or, in some cases, unpaid. This trend raises a critical question: why do companies hesitate to offer a base salary to BDRs, SDRs, Sales Reps, and other sales roles? Sales is undeniably tough. It demands persistence, resilience, and a profound understanding of the market and customer needs. When companies offer commission-only roles, it can feel like there's a lack of trust in the employee's potential. It's as if the company isn't willing to invest in its people, yet expects them to invest their time and energy. Imagine working tirelessly, putting in hours of hard work, and still not earning anything if the sales don’t materialize. What about the value of my time and effort? Sales should be seen as a team effort, requiring support, training, and a collaborative environment. Providing a base salary shows that the company values and trusts its employees. It demonstrates a commitment to building a strong, motivated sales team. To all the companies and startups out there, I urge you to rethink your compensation strategies. Trust your employees, invest in them, and watch how they contribute to the growth and success of your business. Offering a base salary isn't just about financial security; it's about showing that you believe in your team's potential. Let's build a work culture that values effort and nurtures talent. Sales is not just about closing deals; it's about building relationships and creating value. Trust your sales team, and they'll trust you back. What are your thoughts on this approach? #RujalShah #Sales #SDRs #BDRs #SalesRep #Hiring #Culture #SalesTeam #EmployeeInvestment #SalesStrategy #Teamwork #SalesGrowth #SalesMotivation #CompanyCulture

Don’t just describe your outcomes, demonstrate them CEO: How’s our business performing in France? CFO: Well, I’ve been piecing things together with Excel, sweat, and tears, but I still don’t have any clear answers This is the nightmare many CFOs go through: 1. Request a report from IT 2. Describe the required outputs and data sources 3. IT builds their interpretation of the report 4. A few months later, you test it 5. The numbers don’t add up, and you have nothing for the CEO 6. Return to sleepless nights piecing things together in Excel The big problem here is words. Ambiguous words. You described your requirements using finance jargon that only experienced professionals understand. It's easy to forget that others might not get it. When you give your requirements to an engineer, they build based on their interpretation, not your intent. This leads to feedback loops where they fix one thing but break another, wasting months and thousands of $$$. (and potentially your reputation) The solution? Don't just describe—demonstrate. Instead of only explaining your rules, create an Excel example showing exactly they are applied. Include formulas, data rows, classifications, and attributes you use for decisions. If you give engineers an unambiguous definition of a business rule with a worked example, they can rinse and repeat until they have it right. They know what correct looks like and they can prove it with maths. And that means they can work faster and more accurately. You get what you need quicker and with more precision. And most importantly - you can confidently report back to the CEO. Follow me, David Tyler to learn how to fix broken tech systems so that they serve the real business needs as simply and elegantly as possible.

Will GenAI increase the size of our brain? It appears that 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫 than other species because of… 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠! I was intrigued by this story shared by Work Trend Researcher and colleague Alexia Cambon: 🧠 Our pre-historic 𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 because they ate mostly 𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 that was hard to digest. They spent 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and thus had 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 or "brain challenging stuff". Until… 🔥 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝. Now they had the opportunity to 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝, making 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲. From then on, energy was saved, which decided to go straight to the brain. 𝐈𝐧 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞. 🔋 The hypothesis is that 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬. It can take over routine, boring, tasks (energy drainers), 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐮𝐬: strategizing, reflecting, resetting ourselves, and delivering both quality and high quality work… Over time we will know the results. 📈 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧, or at least understanding how it will reshape the distribution of our mental resources in the future. Want to listen to something good while doing the laundry? 👂 Alexia Cambon is a great storyteller and takes you through the evolution of our 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬. #AI #GenAI #WorkTrend #cooking #Copilot #Research https://lnkd.in/e9UJVKk9
