🎓 After graduation, I set out to achieve my dream: starting a beauty salon software company in Morocco. Here's what happened (Part 4): March 2024 – I had been working as a software developer for six months. Finally, we launched the big project we had been working on for months at the company. At the same time, I finished a stable version of my software and was ready to show it to beauty salons in Morocco for feedback. But then, our work setup changed from fully remote to hybrid, with one week in the office and one week online. I faced a tough choice: -Delay my startup to save more money. -Start right away, with enough funds to keep going for one year. I asked myself: "Would I ever ever regret leaving my job if my startup failed and I had to find a new job in a year?" My answer was 'No.' I calculated the worst-case (no revenue, no part-time jobs) and best-case scenarios (finding part-time work, some revenue). I spent a lot of time thinking and getting advice from friends. It was a hard decision. In the end, I knew I wouldn’t regret trying. So, I quit my job, and shortly after I have came across a lot of part time opportunities that help me currently sustain the project. Generate Unit Test with Intellitest Visual Studio teams works on integrating Intellitest as built-in feature. The main goal is to generate test by right click on your class name or method. Then you can pick up the test you willing to keep. The downside is, that only available in Entreprise preview version and .Net 6 and above for now. For all the hand-wringing and catterwalling, there is a pretty solid wall of research from academics who find this important for a few reasons: - It is useful for data scientists who are NOT physicists - If they WERE physicists and already knew the pattern, they wouldn't need a neural network in the first place - The diagram is called a TOY EXAMPLE for a reason With that in mind, let the complaining commence! 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧: The traditional Neural Network 𝗦𝗛𝗨𝗧 𝗜𝗧𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙 𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡 after ~1,200 steps because it stopped converging. All NN's self-terminate to keep themselves from running forever. It wasn't an oustside force! 😊 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲: "If you’ve ever tried to read existing literature on physics informed neural networks (PINNs), it’s a tough read! Either lots of equations that for most people will be unfamiliar and assumptions that you are already an expert with all of the concepts, or too simplistic to gain a good understanding. This post aims to walk through PINNs in an intuitive way, and also suggests some improvements over current literature. Traditional physics model creation is a task of a domain expert, who parametrises physics models to best fit a system of interest. For example, creating a model of aircraft dynamics using equations of drag, lift, gravity, thrust, etc., and parametrising the model to attempt to closely match the model to a specific aircraft. The purely data-driven neural network approach is to attempt to learn the model using supervised learning with a neural network from data obtained from a specific system. Physics Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) lie at the intersection of the two. Using data-driven supervised neural networks to learn the model, but also using physics equations that are given to the model to encourage consistency with the known physics of the system. They have the advantage of being both data-driven to learn a model, but also able to ensure consistency with the physics, as well as being able to extrapolate accurately beyond the available data. Complete immersion of computer components appears to be the most effective way to cool them, explains David J. Martinez, engineering program project lead for Sandia’s Infrastructure Computing Services. “We place whole computers — their power cables, everything — in a liquefied solution,” Martinez said. “We take an entire rack and drop it into fluid contained in big immersion tanks.” Martinez believes that this direct contact between a liquid coolant and electrified equipment could reshape the future designs of data centers. With this challenges I intend to increase my understanding of software architecture, train my writing skills and open myself to the worldwide community ! You should consider working during weekends! 🌴 Starting a business is not easy: I am the only backend developer at WeTransform so far, but I also am the CTO. So I am kind of Laurent de la CLERGERIE's nightmare, as I am not working 4 days, but 6 days a week to be able to do everything. During weekdays (except Wednesdays), I am the CTO 🤵‍♂️ of WeTransform. 🤵‍♂️ Managing 3 to 4 people, depending on the projects, giving them tasks, and making sure they are on track without any blockers. 🤵‍♂️ Defining the product, analyzing the market, and deciding what features to build next to increase our conversion and engagement. 🤵‍♂️ Discussing the organization strategy with the CEO, and making sure that the technical part is aligned with the business goals. This is a lot of meetings, a lot of discussions, and a lot of thinking. And I use the weekends to do what requires most of my focus: coding 🤓. 🤓 Some technical decisions require a lot of research, and I need to be able to read a lot of articles and try a lot of things. 🤓 Some features require thousands of lines of code, and I need to focus without being interrupted. 🤓 Some bugs or performance problems require deep investigations, and I need to be able to spend hours on them… Call me Sherlock ! While others are sipping piña coladas, I'm over here wrestling with code and debugging mysteries, and it works very well! If you need me on a Saturday, I'll be the one in the coffee shop, surrounded by empty espresso cups, battling it out with my code while sometimes dreaming of that elusive 4-day workweek. Cheers to all the weekend warriors out there!
